Hello! I need to make sure you know who I am so things make sense, My current name is Aalex. I am different from other humans or sometimes not humans(you'll see what I mean), you see, I can remember. I can remember my other lives, who I loved and who I despised. I have had many names Aaliyah, Dominic, Avah, James, Jacklyn and Aldora, that's only some. I am telling a story from when I was Aldora, at that time I was Greek. I was born in Nafplio. I will be telling you how I traveled to an alternate universe. On to the story! Oh ya and italic means in my head.
I woke up in my room like any other day, but something felt off about today. I looked on my calendar.
"oh I'm late for work... I'M LATE FOR WORK!!!" I scrambled to get my uniform on, which was an ocean blue t-shirt, gray jeans, a brown belt with a gold clasp and a white coat that went down to my knees. I tied my hair into a high ponytail with an ocean blue hair tie and put my bangs over my left eye. My hair was light brown fading into light yellow/blond color then fading back into light brown with a black stripe in the middle of the bangs, at the bottom of the ponytail it folded up slightly. I rushed to get out the front door almost forgetting to put my shoes, which are ocean blue sneakers with white soles. I ran to my golden Lamborghini.

Getting in I drove to the laboratory I worked at, when I finally got there my assistant and best friend Bethany was furious
"AND WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?" she asked as she stormed over to me.
"Beth I sleep in late EVERY Friday, you know this" I stated
"Sigh. You have five meetings today three in the morning and two in the afternoon, the first is in two minutes. So we have to go NOW!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me to my office. The silver plak with the words 'Lead Scientist: Aldora' written in black on the door. As we entered I saw my boss. The president Katerina Sakellaropoulou sitting across from my desk.
"Hello Aldora, how's your progress on the machine?" She asked in a calm voice.
"It's going good ma'am but, are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked nervously while going to sit at my office chair.
"It is essential for the future of mankind." she stated while looking out the window to the left of the door where Bethany was standing guard to make sure no one bothered us.
"Sigh. We're still working on getting someone to go through." I said
"You go through then." She stated as if it was obvious.
"WHAT!? We're talking about an alternate universe here! We aren't even sure it's safe to go through! Let alone what it's like on the other side! What about my oth-"
"Did I stutter" she cut me off
"No..." I trailed off.
"Exactly now go finish the machine, I have cancelled all your other meetings and projects. GO!" I left after she said that and rushed to the secret lab under the building. On the way there I literally ran into my coworker Demetrius, he was Ukrainein.
"Why are you in such a rush anhel?" He asked helping me up.
"The president wants me to work on something" I said brushing any dust off my cloths.
"Let me guess, the machine?" he said with a sarcastic pause.
"Yes, the machine" I said as I walked away. When I got to the baseme- I mean the secret lab under the building, I went over the reports from the other scientists working on the machine.
Yasmine & Cory: We were able to open the portal for 5 seconds, that's a new record!
Adrain: I was able to open the portal for eight seconds, and I threw an apple in.
Marina: I opened the portal for 10 seconds, three seconds in an apple with a bite mark in it came out. I ran a DNA test and the DNA matched that of a human.
Sean(Jack): I found an apple with a bite mark in it, I ate the rest of the apple. Sorry.
Well that means there is Human life on the other side, or Life that has Human DNA. I thought. I walked over to the control panel and turned the machine on. Something came through! It looked like a piece of paper, I went and got it... it was a letter? I read it. It said the following.

The gift of wings? What could it mean? I thought suddenly the portal closed, I ran back to the control panel but it said it was still open. That can't be right. It's impossible. But then again... I looked down at the note in my hand. This is normally impossible to... I guess the impossible just became possible... I need to show this to the president. With that I rushed back to my office to call her.
"What is it Aldora?" she asked bored of me already.
"You need to see this" Then I added "It's about the machine" so she didn't say she would come but end up not showing .
"I'm on my way!" She said excitedly. She arrived ten minutes later and I handed her the letter.
"The one with the gift of wings? What does that even mean?" she questioned while pacing the room. Suddenly a voice spoke from the other side of the room.
"Well I'm not too sure but the name Aldora means a winged gift." The president and I looked towards the owner of the voice, it was none other than Bethany.
"Your right! So we're gonna send you Aldora." The president looked cheerful, too cheerful.
"B-But-" I got cut off.
"No buts Aldora, you're going whether you like it or not." The president said blankly.
"O-Okay" We then left for the secret lab under the building. I turned on the machine and went to stand in front of it.
"Don't die!" they said in perfect sync. The machine turned on and I went through.
