Chapter Two: Dates and Breakdowns

Start from the beginning

"My house," I asked. As I turned on Baker Street the street Kylie and I both live on.

"Nope mine. You my dear best friend have to sit through an hour of helping me get ready for my date," Kylie said with a sly smirk on her face.

Let's go," I said. I could not wait to pull up to Ky's house.

After what seemed like the longest hour and a half of my life. Kylie finally decided that she'd wear the light blue dress I had gotten her for her birthday last year. You know after she changed out of jeans about a hundred times because "they made her butt look big." But if you asked me I'd tell you she's nervous.

"Are you ready to do this," I asked curling the last piece of Kylie's blonde hair.

"You mean am I ready to do what I've only dreamt about since I was five years old. Yeah sure," she said. She got up and paced the room over and over again.

"You're creating a terrible draft you know," I said eying her as she went back and forth.

Ding dong!

"I'll get it," I screamed to Kylie as if she were light years away.

I skipped down the stairs and opened the front door. "Why hello there Isaac, What brings you here this fine evening,"

"Hello Emerald looking lovely as ever my dear. I'm here seeking a date," Isaac said in the fakest Old English accent I have ever heard. But hey the guy tries.

"Oh you mean the one pacing back and forth upstairs? She's creating the world's most terrible daft."

"Emerald I heard that," Kylie yelled. She was clearly getting annoyed.

Isaac let out a deep chuckle. "You know, that might just be the one," he said.

"EMERALD SOS," Kylie screamed.

"Uh we'll be right down. Make yourself at home Isaac," I said rushing upstairs.

Kylie was laying face down on her bed when I finally dragged myself up the stairs. What? It's hard work for a lazy person. "So my dear sweet Kylie, when do you plan on making an appearance downstairs?"

"Never I'll just die old and alone,"she groaned.

"Mhm now you know I can't let you do that," I told her.

"But whyyy," she groaned louder.

"Kylie are you listening to me," I asked hopeful. Fingers crossed I can become a Kylie whisperer.

"Shoot," Kylie said rolling onto her back. She's staring at her ceiling in search of something. Then I realized what all the lost looks were about.

"Look Kylie, I'm your best friend right? I know you lost your momma last year. But you can't put your life on hold because of it. There's a cute guy downstairs waiting to take you out. He has the hots for you, and he's real. So your mom isn't here that doesn't mean she's not watching over you. Go have fun," I breathed. Man, that was a mouth full.

"Okay. I'm ready," Kylie said. We walked downstairs hand in hand. It's what best friends do.

"Wow! Kylie you look gorgeous," Isaac said. I think he might've been drooling a little.

"Thanks," Kylie said shyly.

"Uh car's outside so..," Isaac said clearly he wanted to get going.

"Uh yeah sorry. Emerald your here alone until my dad gets home. Damien went to one of his friend's bonfires. Those usually last all night. Oh and...,"

"Go," I cut Kylie off.

Was it wrong of me to push my best friend out of her own house? Maybe, but I did it for Isaac. You could tell that boy was itching to get going and without my help Kylie wasn't leaving anytime soon. You're welcome Isaac.

When I finally realized I was alone in my best friend's house, I did what any teenage girl would do. Facebook and Pretty Little Liars.

So there I was sitting on the couch with my computer watching Pretty Little Liars, when I get a message from none other than Colin Edwards. I began to smile instantly.

Colin Edwards: Hey Smurf!

Emerald Gold: Hey you!

Colin Edwards: What's up?

Emerald Gold: Watching Pretty Little Liars. What about you?

Colin Edwards: Gay! And I'm watching racing videos.

Emerald Gold: Pretty Little Liars is most definitely not gay.

Colin Edwards: Gay! Hey got a cellphone?

Emerald Gold: Yeah? What kind of question is that?

Colin Edwards: A real one. Anyways text me 555-1212.

Emerald Gold: Okay(:

So message by message the texting started and I started getting more excited with every one of them. What's happening to me?
