Sometimes I wonder those were the days,
When I used to play under our backyard tree,
That one spot, where I isolate and go there always,
Its shade let me forget all my sorrows.
When there was nothing to do in the evening,
Then I used to collect the fallen chilbils on the ground,
Its bittersweet taste are still there on my tongue,
The tree was my comfort and my emotion.
It was there, with me all the time,
From my birth to my teenage,
In my grief and happiness,
Altogether seen my life very closely.
At night when the power goes off,
To enjoy its cool breeze my whole family would come on the roof,
With its long branches with loaded leaves,
Could please any kind of tedious soul.
Sometimes I wonder those were the days,
Sometimes I wonder those were the days.
