Chapter 38 Miria's Past

Miria POV

"And that's the story..."

Tsurugi: "... I had no idea."

"How could you? I've never told anyone but those who already knew."

Tsurugi: "But..."

"But...?"

Tsurugi: "Why did you say your Mom did everything she's done for her sake? The way you explained seem like she just wanted to protect you."

"... Even since my Dad has died, my Mom has always blamed Soccer for taking him away. She always said that if she stopped him then what would have happened? If she never agreed to allow Dad to chase his dreams would he still be alive today?"

Tsurugi: "..."

"... One of the most painful questions everyone asks, What would have happened?"

Tsurugi said nothing to me so I continued.

"My Mom became overprotective of me. Made choices for me and I let her."

Tsurugi: "Why?"

I turned to look at Tsurugi.

"Because I didn't want her to worry. Because I wanted her to be happy, after all Mom never had the time to grieve. Those 3 peaceful years... she never cried in front of me or Mari. But I knew... on late nights when she thought Mari and I were asleep... she would always cry in the kitchen."

I felt my eyes getting watery.

"But..." *sniff* "I don't... I don't want to leave you all... I... I want to stay with you all! I!"

I felt my wrist get grabbed and my head layed on something warm.

"Tsurugi?"

I realized that my head was on his chest and we were hugging.

Tsurugi: "... Don't hold it in."

!

"... U-Ugh... WAAAA!"

I didn't remember how long I cried. But I do remember how warm it was with Tsurugi. His arms kept me feeling safe... it was comfortable. 

*Next Day*

When I woke up the next day to get ready... when I opened the door...

"Eh?"

Aoi, Shinsuke, and Tenma were there waiting for me.

"Everyone...?"

Aoi: "Let's go to school together!"

"Eh? O-Okay."

Aoi grabbed my hand and the three of us started heading to school.

... They're trying to be positive.

It was the same as through the whole day then I went to the club room to say goodbye to everyone...

"Ah... Coach."

Endou: "Miria."

"So does everyone know? My real name..."

Endou: "Yeah... your Mom explained everything to us."

"I see..."

I was sitting down across from Coach Endou.

"Well... thank you for everything. Everyone else too."

I bowed to everyone then when I stopped bowing.

"Eh?"

I was suddenly hugged tightly by Aoi, Shinsuke, and Tenma.

"The three of us... what are you?"

Tenma: "If we keep hugging you there's no way you'll leave."

Shinsuke: "Yeah!"

Aoi: "I can't believe we're doing this... but we don't want you to leave Miria!"

"You three..."

Shirabe: "Hey now as much as I agree with you, if you keep doing this it'll just cause more problems..."

Tenma: "It'll work out somehow!"

Shinsuke: "That's right!"

"... Geez."

I pulled the three of them closer to me. Then I hugged all three of them tightly.

Aoi: "Miria-chan?"

"The three of you... remind me so much of my sister..."

Aoi, Tenma, Shinsuke: !

"I used to hug her like this the same way..."

Shinsuke: "Miria..."

*sigh* "Now... I have to go now."

I let of the three of them and they reluctantly let go.

Erena: "Miria."

"Mom..."

Erena: "Come with me."

"... Yes."

I follow Mom outside while everyone kept watching us.

Tsurugi: "Excuse me..."

"Tsurugi...!"

Erena: "... What is it?"

Then all of a sudden...

!

Tsurugi bowed to my Mom.

Tsurugi...?

Tsurugi: "Please! Please let Miria stay here!"

I was so surprised... Tsurugi normally would never do this. It made me happy to see how much he cared.

Erena: "... Miria."

"Yes?"

Erena: "May I ask a favor of you... again?"

"A favor?"

Erena: "Before we left... may I hear you... sing again?"

!

Erena: "I know. I know that I was the one who made you join the entertainment industry. You don't have to continue it though..."

"Mama..."

Erena: "You can quit if you wish but I want to at least hear you sing again. I already have a stage ready."

"When did you...?!"

Mom smiled and then turned to Tsurugi.

Erena: "You guys can come too."

Tsurugi: "Eh?"

Erena handed some passes to Tsurugi.

Erena: "They're for everyone."

"... Mama!"

Mom turned to me.

"I... I'll sing!"

Erena: "... Okay."
