Chapter 2
Emma Sparks
"BANG!"
My ears ring from the impact of Liam's forehead hitting my noggin. I try to act like I have not been dating him all summer without James knowing. "What was that for!?!" I tried saying in the angriest voice I can think of, I was trying to be mad but I could not resist his amazing smile. I start blushing but then quickly whip my head around and talk to James
"So James how have you been." he always would reply "Oh nothin much" which was confusing to me because he's been my friend for 9 years and all of a sudden he's acting all strange.
"Anyway, I gotta go to class," James says in a nervous voice. He bolts into the school.
"Finally we are alone," Liam says in a sneaky voice "We were alone all summer, why was James so upset?" I try to talk to Liam for four seconds but all he wants to do is hug me he grabs my waist and that catches me off guard. "Staaaaawp, we can't let the whole school that we are dating!" I say giggling trying to keep a straight face but every time I look at Liam I get butterflies in my stomach and my face lights up like the red traffic light. Liam pulls me in closer, but then before he can do anything else the screeching second bell rang. "I have to go to class. I don't want to be late." Liam grabs my wrist before I could run to class.
"Meet me at our park benches for lunch."He said with a michievise look in his eyes "Maybe, I'll think about it" both knowing that I would have lunch with him. I quickly rush to my classroom Room 157, arriving with only five seconds to spare. I sit down and catch my breath.
"Good Morning Class, I am your homeroom teacher Mrs.Smith, how is everyone" before the whole class acts like robots and responds with "good." James bursts through the door.

There goes that bell again screeching like always making my deaf. I packed up my bags as fast as I could. "Hey Em you wanna grab lunch?" James asked in a shaky voice. He's acting so weird he never gets nervous around me, again with that attitude WHAT IS GOING ON!
"I'm so sorry I can't, I gotta go paint my bike!" I rush out of that classroom as soon as I can. Painting a bike seriously, Emma you couldn't think of anything else like homework or volleyball practice something school-related.
I heard footsteps behind me "Boo." I jumped, then turned to see Liam.
"Jesus Liam doesn't do that I was thinking really hard you could have given me a heart attack," I said in a teasing voice.
He grabs my hand trying to be all romantic and stuff, but my mind is somewhere else, why was James acting so weird? Why did he get all nervous around me? I am so confused and overwhelmed I can't deal with anyone right now.
"Liam, I have to go, I need to be alone" It breaks my heart to see the look of sadness on his face. When I blow him off he seems really upset.
"Em if anything is bothering you I'm here okay?" I smile before kissing him on the cheek and running to the washroom. If you are not a girl you don't know what happens there it is not what you think, let me tell you the girl's washroom is a peaceful place where girls go to cry, talk, and figure out their problems. I needed to figure out James' problem with me as soon as possible.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!! James knows! He knows about Liam and me!! That's why he has been acting all strange. I need to text Liam right now.
I finally found the strength to wake up, feeling dizzy and not knowing where I was but thankfully my dog charlie jumped up on my bed licking my face, waking me up faster than a Voyager 1, which mind you, go about sixty thousand miles per hour, and was sent out sometime in the 19 hundreds. I rubbed my eyes and was about to get ready for school when I heard my ringtone for Liam, it's "make you mine" and I waited a little bit to jam out to the song then at the last moment I picked up.
"HE KNOWS HE KNOWS!" I practically yelled. "Em calm down are you ok? Who knows and what?" Liam said in a groggy voice it sounds like he just woke up. I try to keep my voice down in a house that is unusually quiet. "James knows about us and last summer!'
