"Yeah it's - it's for the best. But I won't private my Twitter because we agree I'm hilarious online" I replied as I changed my settings, Blaire let out a weak laugh.

"Trust me, if you just go off the radar a bit and not post abut Josh, they'll forget it" she suggested.

"I'm literally not even posting about Josh anymore! Him commenting on my posts is what's getting me in trouble!" I insisted.

"Well then...seems like someone wants people to know that you're in his life" Blaire sang mischievously. I huffed before kicking her leg lightly and she snickered.

"Okay but I'm not even joking Addie! It's been ages since your dinner and you guys are always hanging out and stuff which was not part of the plan - I mean he's taking you to Salt Lake for the weekend - "

"Uh with his management...it's a work thing that Chelsea invited me and Aunty G to, not him." I argued and she waved me off as if that was just a technicality.

But yeah, that was a moment. Josh had to go and do some promotional work for the upcoming season and they needed the two leads - Josh and Liv - to travel back to get it done. Chelsea and Gwen started talking about how we're dating now...so they invited me as well.

But then Gwen had to pull out as she's having to organise a lot for the ball and now it's just me...and Josh...in a new city. I'm fine.

How could I say no? I double-checked with Josh just in case but he was more than happy to even show me around the city. I was going to visit the school and I wasn't ready in the slightest.

"I still can't believe you're not coming with me - IT'S EAST HIGH BOBA!" I yelled a bit too loud and the man behind Blaire glanced over at me. I just smirked and looked away. Why don't I know how to exist in public?

"I fucking told you I need to study for my midterms my Mom's already on my case for failing the last tests - but that's besides the point I know you're tryna change the subject" she retorted and I slumped in my chair.

"Okay look it's - Josh and I agreed that we were great friends and to stay in each other's lives...and I don't know where he's at but come on, you see those fans? Thankfully not many care but it's still a lot because I - mean we were them at one point. Like imagine if we weren't us, and we saw Josh suddenly interacting with someone new on social media?" I ranted and Blaire looked away in thought.

"Okay fine I'd gossip about with you out of fierce curiosity" she agreed and I shrugged my shoulders, "but I wouldn't make a big deal of it on social media which is what you're afraid of" she continued.

"That's 'cause we're the same age as him, it's the younger ones who would be that curious and then I'd just wanna delete all my accounts because how do I explain that I used Josh as a fake date to a dinner to make my family happy?" I complained. I took a big sip of my coffee and Blaire groaned.

"Well if that actually has to happen, you can just lie and say you're simply friends...you're quite used to telling yourself that lie - "

"BLAIRE I SWEAR - "

"No yelling in public Adeline, public decency!" my best friend yelled back and I struggled to come back with a retort. She simply smirked to herself and leaned forward.

"Have you even asked Josh how he feels about all of it?" she then asked slowly. My mouth parted slightly and I slouched a bit. Well to be honest, after I lashed out at him for not being my boyfriend, I noticed he had become a bit less...intimate with me.

He was as charming and lovely as ever. He was respecting my wishes and any boundaries I set place, he never wanted to make me freak out like that again. So that's on me...but it didn't mean that there was a part of me that wished I could take it all back. But if I said that, everything would just become complicated.
