Brody's POV
I step out of my limo and get immediately blinded by the lights from the huge building in front of me. Jess stepped out behind me throwing her hand over her face to cover her eyes. This is the party of the year. Riches meet riches. We slowly walked away from the limo to the door being greeted by others from the outside. I open the door for her and she looks past me to walk inside. I roll my eyes and walk in as the bass causes my chest to convulse uncontrollably. The host, MJ, walks up slowly to meet Jess and I. Jess smiles and elbows me in the gut as if I didn't see her.
"Don't fuck this up for me." Jess mumbles and smiles brightly at her again.
"I'd hope you too are enjoying yourselves." MJ smiles and nods, walking away.
I begin to drift from Jess and make my own friends. I find one of my fellow colleagues, Brandon. He smirks and pats my back. His friendly gestures tend to scare me a bit. When he's tipsy it causes him to get a bit...handsy.
"So glad you showed man!" Brandon slurs his words, standing a bit too close.
"It's always nice to see you too." I say before slowly stepping away.
I turn around and quickly, I feel another male's body slam into mine. I furrow my brow and look at him in confusion. He looks at me and scoffs. I study his stance before introducing myself.
"Brody." I put out my hand for him to shake.
He looks at my hand in disgust. I roll my eyes and shake my hand a bit before he complies. He grips my hand firmly and shakes it quickly.
"Dapper." He gives me a weird look and goes back to his original stance.
"Do you happen to know where the bathroom is? This place is huge." I ask as I look around.
"Maybe, I'm not gonna show you." he looks me up and down before turning to walk away.
I grab his arm and pull him back over to me. My eyes go from cold to desperate trying to separate myself from the snooty bitch I try to ignore. He could tell my expression was please god help me.
He sighs "Fine, follow me." He starts to walk back in the direction he went. "I actually was not invited to this, but I know sources here. We'll go back to my place, the bathroom here is known to make you pay just to pee."
I nod and he grabs my hand, rushing through the crowd. We push through a side door into a broken down street. There was graffiti and trash everywhere. We walk down the streets. I hear honking horns and people talking as we turn to a better built apartment complex. He grabs a key out of his pocket and we begin to walk up the stairs of a building. His door was white with blue numbers. 683. He unlocked his door and pushed the door open to reveal a nicely furnished apartment. The walls were an olive color and on them hung beautiful paintings I had never seen before. He sighs and pushes me in as he walks in and closes the door, locking it. It sends me into panic and I turn around and he chuckles.
"Relax, I'm not holding you hostage. It's the second door to the left." He points to the hallway.
I run to the hallway and into the bathroom. I quickly release my stress into the toilet below with a relieving sigh and a tilt of my head. I fix my clothes and wash my hands before walking out.
"Ready to go back?" He grumbles.
"Actually, I just wanted to escape my girlfriend." I said lowly.
"ARE YOU SERI-"
"Hey! Hey! I had to actually pee! I don't wanna go yet!" I defend myself.
"God, you can just stay the night. I understand wanting to escape." He sits on his couch and I sit on the loveseat.
"You know Jessica of the North Company?" I look at him.
"Who doesn't? She's everywhere. That snappy little bitch gets anything she wants. She's literally a brat in the making. I can't stand her." Dapper frowns and balls his fists.
"That's my girlfriend." I inhale.
"Sucks for you." He shakes his head. "I understand why you'd wanna leave her by herself.
I nod and sigh. "What are we gonna do for tonight?"
"We can watch TV. When you get sleepy, there's a room in the very back you can sleep in." He offered nicely.
I smiled and he turned on the TV as we watched the news. A few moments later my phone rings. I pull it from my pocket to see Jess' obnoxious grin grace my screen. He mutes the TV for me to pick up.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?" Jess yells into her phone from the limo.
I put the phone on speaker and respond calmly.
"I'm talking to the host. I will call you when I'm on my way home. Love you."
"YOU BETTER FUC-" I hang up and turn my phone completely off.
"She's really on your ass.." Dapper mumbles and unmutes the TV.
"You think?" I laugh and roll my eyes.
The TV buzzes loudly as I sigh heavily, getting sleepier. Dapper was dozing off but he kept denying it. His fluffy hair flopped in his face as he fell into a dark abyss. It was kinda..relieving to look at him. I don't know what it was but it made me happy and content. I'm straight, right?
