"SYL, Please! Try to understand, anak. They're asking help from us." Here goes my father again, asking for a favo-- well, I really don't know if favor nga because he's kinda forcing me to do what he wants. This. Is. My. Morning. Isn't amazing?

Hindi ko sya pinansin at dumaretso na ako papuntang living room.

“Lea Sylene Ruiz! I am talking to you!” I stopped walking and I rolled my eyes as if he can see it. Lumingon ako para tignan ang ama ko.

"Dad, We've talked about this, haven't we? Ayaw nya nga, hindi ba? Why do I need to force myself to people who doesn't want me in the first place?" Giit ko. Pero sa totoo lang, gustong gusto ko. Pero what am I going to do?

"Anak, Ginagawa lang ito ng Tito Alfredo mo upang malayo si Kiel sa babaeng yun. You're their last chance, anak." Pamimilit ng ama ko. I sighed.

Kiel is my childhood bestfriend. Yes, you read it right. Aga Kiel Hernandez is my childhood friend. We met each other when we were in highschool and we became friends until college days. Well, I can say that we're still friends til now. Nagkahiwalay lang kami nung college kasi ang kinuha ko ay Medicine at sya naman ay Engineer. Yup, I’m a Surgeon. Simula nung college, madalang na kaming magusap. Madalang na din kaming magkita. Kaya ngayon parang malayo na ‘yung loob nya sakin lalo na nang mapagkasunduan nang mga magulang namin na ikasal kami. Pero hindi sang-ayon si Kiel do’n because Aga has fiancé and that’s Thea. If you’ll ask me if I like Kiel? Nope, because I love him. Since then, I’m inlove with him secretly. I chose to keep it for myself because I don’t want our friendship to be ruined but what now? Ang gusto ng parents nya ay saakin makasal si Kiel. Of course, I would love to be his wife but... isa rin ito sa pagkasira ng pagkakaibigan namin.

“Lea Sylene, Do I need to kneel down in order for you to say yes? Anak naman.” Napapikit nalang ako sandali because of what my father said.

“Dad, I’m not sure yet. I—I really don’t know, Dad. Let me think about this first, pwede po ba ‘yun?” My dad sighed. He held my right hand.

“Alright. But I just want to inform you that they will come here tomorrow.” My eyes widened with what he said. What the hell?! Of course, I am shookt! Ang tagal na namin hindi nagkikita na Kiel.

“What?! Dad, May duty ako tomorrow. I can’t make it.” Pagsisinungaling ko. Sa totoo lang wala naman.

“Sylene. You don’t have any scheduled operations for tomorrow. Don’t lie to me because you know what I can do.” Inis na sabi ni Dad. I really want to roll my eyes right now but I know I can’t. I was about to say something when mom showed up.

“What’s with the two of you? Parang ang seryoso nang pinaguusapan nyo ha?” My mom, Melinda Ruiz asked.

“Nothing, mom.” I said. Alam kong mas hahaba pa ang usapan pag sinabi ko kung ano ang pinag-uusapan namin. Besides, I have work today and I don’t want to be late.

“Are you sure?” She looked at me first then looked at dad. I nod. “Okay, as you say so. Anyway, breakfast is ready. C’mon.” Dagdag ng aking Ina. Parang nawalan ako ng gana kumain.

“Mom, I’ll just have my breakfast sa hospital. I really need to go.” Sabi ko. Humalik ako sa pisngi nila at agad na ding lumabas at sumakay sa sasakyan ko at umalis agad nang bahay. Naloloka ako sa umagang ito. Ang aga aga pero yun agad ang bungad sakin. Iniisip ko pa din ‘yung sinabi ni dad kanina. Ilang taon ko din na hindi nakita si Kiel tapos bukas pupunta sila sa bahay? This is so frustrating! Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at napailing.

Nakarating na din ako sa hospital at agad kong pinark ang  sasakyan ko. It's already 8 in the morning. I get my bag first bago ako bumaba nang sasakyan. Pumasok na ako sa hospital and there I saw Doc Leriel, she's one of my closest friends.

"Aba, Doc Syl! Ang aga natin ha." Leriel said. I rolled my eyes.

"Good morning din sayo, Doc Leriel." Sabi ko bago pumasok sa office ko. Napatawa sya at sumunod sya sakin. Leriel Regina Sevilla is gastroenterologist. Magkaibigan na kami since college.

"Wala ka pa bang patient? Why are you here?" I asked. Sasagot na sana sya nang pumasok si Alexis at Heart.

"Hi, Doc Sylene!" Bati ni Alexis sakin. Lumapit sya sakin upang bumeso at ganun din sng ginawa ni Heart. Katulad kay Leriel, Vincent Alexis Viceral and Heart Rachel Saavedra are my closest friends too. Kaming apat na ang magkakasama simula college palang. Heart is a pediatrician while Alexis is a surgeon too.

"Do you guys even know how to knock?" I raised my left eyebrow.

"Ito kasing si Alexis agad agad pumasok eh!" Paninisi ni Heart. Alexis made a peace sign.

"Bakit parang hindi maganda ang umaaga mo, Syl?" Tanong ni Leriel sakin. I sighed.

"I'll tell you guys later. Let's have a coffee nalang later." Paga-aya ko. Kung meron man among nasasabihan ng problema ko, sila 'yun.

"It seems like a serious matter ha? Sige, free naman ako later." Sagot ni Heart.

"I think I'm free din mamaya. Ilan lang naman naka schedule sakin ngayon eh." Pagsasang-ayon ni Leriel.

"How about you, Vincent?"

"Huwaw naman, teh! Ke ganda ganda ko today tapos tatawagin mo lang akong Vincent? Sana okay ka lang." He rolled his eyes. Attitude din 'to eh. "Anyway, naka schedule yung patient ko mamayang 9:30AM tapos mamayang 3pm pa naman 'yung rounds ko so I think makakasama naman akesh." Dagdag pa nya.

"Okay. wala naman akong ooperahan today so I'll do my rounds lang. Starbucks ha!" I said and they nodded.

"Osya at baka andun na yung first patient ko." Paalam ni Heart at lumabas na din. Nagpaalam na din si Leriel st Alexis. I wore my coat and started to do my rounds.

IT'S already 12:30PM at nauna na akong pumunta sa Starbucks. I texted them telling that I'm here already. After a few minutes dumating na din sila. Nag order na din kami agad.

"Ang cute cute nung huling patient ko kanina. I want to pinch her chubby cheeks again." Sabi ni Heart. She really loves kids. "So, what's up, Syl?" Tanong ni Heart.

"Oo nga pala, anong sasabihin mo, Syl?" Dagdag na tanong ni Leriel. Bumuntong hininga ako bago sila sagutin.

"Dad and I about something awhile ago." Paninimula ko. Halata sa mukha nila ang pagtataka.

"Then?" Alexis asked.

"He wants me to marry his business partner' son." I said and sighed. They looked so shocked.

"To whom are you going to marry? I-I mean... What the heck?" Leriel asked. Sino nga bang hindi magugulat, hindi ba? Sobrang strict ng parents ko tapos malalaman nila ikakasal. I looked down. They know him kasi pinakilala ko sya sa kanila and they know that I'm inlove with him.

"Hoy, Lea Sylene Ruiz! Kinakausap ka namin." Inis na pagtawag sakin ni Alexis. I glared at him. Ang lakas kasi ng boses nya at nakuha nya ang attention nang mga tao.

"Can you lower down your voice, Vicente?  Nakakahiya ka!" I exclaimed.

"Eh kanino ka ba kasi ikakasal? Nakakagulat kaya yung sinabi mo." Sagot naman nya. Napabuntong hininga nanaman ako. Puro buntong hininga na lang ata ang nagawa ko ngayong araw.

"He wants me to marry.........Aga Kiel Hernandez"
