*A month later, sorry for skipping
Maya has gotten used to living with the Matthews. She hasn't heard from her mom since she moved back to New York. Not to mention, Maya and Lucas's flirting game is very high...

Maya's POV:

I sat in my bedroom, flipping through pages of pages of a book.

I heard my door open and turned my head to see Riley.

"Hey." I said, moving the book out of the way.

"Still nothing on your mom huh?" Riley said, sitting on my bed.

I shook my head.

"I'm sorry Maya, you've been looking for the last month."

"It's fine Riley, i dont even need her in my life. You guys are basically my new family." I said, reassuring her.

She smiled and got up from the bed. "Well on that note, wanna take Velvet for a walk around Central Park?"

(Velvet is the matthew's dog they got)

Before i could answer, my bedroom door opened again. "Can i come too?"

Riley groaned. "Lucas go hang out with your own friends!"

"But Maya is my friend!" He said, winking at me.

I went over to him, "we are friends cowboy?"

"I'm stuck in the old friend zone." Lucas joked.

Riley stood up from her bed and grabbed her leash. "Are you lovebirds done I'm leaving now."

We both left my bedroom and grabbed velvet, putting the leash on her.

She was an adorable little poodle, the Matthews recused her a few weeks ago.

We all walked out the front door and headed towards Central Park.

Lucas did end up coming with us, Riley lost that argument.

Let's just say... I think Lucas has a crush on me.

But I haven't come to my senses yet that I might have a crush on my best friends brother...
