Lea was about to close her facebook account when she heard a quick *ping from her messenger. It was already 5:37 AM, the digital clock from her side table says. The night owl that she ever was, is and will always be. She was just winding down her day, that's a known fact. She hastily opened her messenger just to check who it was only to find Aga, already online and awake around this ungodly hour.

Aga: Awake or about to sleep?

Ah.

She picked her ipad, held it firmly with two hands. She must admit her consciousness is just about to drift away.

Lea: Just as good as your guess. By the way, you got a nice beach view in there. Enjoy the water wherever side of the world you are now.

Aga: Bali

She hates how people could send messages without punctuations but that's what he is.

Lea: Going back to surfing? The waves aren't there yet so maybe just enjoy the sunrise I guess.

She sighs as she can finally retreat to the call of sleep, her eyes start to feel heavy and just when she was about to pull the sheets up to her chin another *Ping was heard.

Arghhhhh, Agaaaa!

Not to mention that *Ping caused a lit from that device on her night stand. She can actually choose to ignore it but fine, she just gonna read whatever he has to say.

Aga: Wedding Anniversary, actually

She popped out and checked the digital clock beside her, 28th May, as it appeared.

Lea: Oh, Happy Anniversary! Please send Cha my greetings as well.

Was it 16th? 17th year? She's good with years and Math in general but obviously not when is half awake and half asleep now.

Well anyways, she sent her regards and that was it. Or so she thought.

Aga: Thank you! Will tell her when she's awake.

Lea: She's not?

Aga: No. She missed the sunrise. You know how she hates early mornings.

Ouch, she felt that tinge of— sadness? Or maybe disappointment.

Lea: But you still have the whole day and a gorgeous beach all by yourselves and that's enough, diba?

The 'diba' was supposed to be therapeutic as she didn't even know what to tell him, really. There might be a surprise or just a quiet moment, she actually don't know. The words from the chat may come as plain as it is but the hint of being crestfallen was already hard to miss out.

Aga: Thanks, Lei.

Lea: For exactly what for?

Aga: 🙂

Lea: Ay naku, Aga. Don't play the emojis card again on me.

Aga: Hahahaha You are so cute.

Lea: You know I don't use emojis right?

Aga: Okay, okay ayan ka na naman. You always seek explanation for everything.

Lea: Don't I deserve to know why?

Don't I deserve to know, Aga? Don't I deserve to know why you had been always like this — all these years? I've — We've always been secured, I know. Nakaka-inis lang kasi you always leave me hanging on the receiving end.

Aga: Thank you for staying. I know you hate mornings too, but you love views of sunrise. So if you were here, you might have either cursed me already for waking you up or telling you not to sleep so you can witness the sunrise. It's really nice and peaceful here and I wish you can see this in your own eyes now.

Truth to be laid she was not prepared for that meltdown and somewhat revelation. She sighed because yes, she get it. What she is not sure if whether those words came out of dismay or those pent up thoughts. Hoy Aga, ang aga-aga, ha!

Lea: Alam mo rather than wallowing your thoughts, go and wake her up while there is still that she can catch up to.

She did the right thing. Just how it is supposed to be. Just what they are should be. Not what they could have been.

Aga: I will. Tulog ka na, Lei. I kept you long enough already.

Gago ka din. Yes, you always have tailed me. Lagi na lang.

Lea: Ags?

Aga: Yes?🙂

She doesn't even know what to tell him.

Lea: Be happy today, okay? This is supposed to be a happy day. Happy Anniversary again. Goodnight.

It was his turn to sigh. A little bit deep just to help him release it all.

Aga: I will. Good night, Lea.🙂
