"Keiji!!" You said running up in front of your boyfriend and giving him a hug when you saw him unexpectedly.

"Sorry (Y/n), we're running late right now." He said as he lazily returned the hug as quick as possible.

"Oh." You said and the rest of boys mistook your tone for sounding a little disappointed. "That's fine! I should have realized, you told me what your were doing today. I'm sorry. Have fun!" You weren't disappointed though. You knew volleyball was very important to him and that it had been a while since he saw his old friends. Today was important to him, so it was important to you.

"Thanks." Akaashi kept his reply short and then ran off without a second look.

You noticed a few of the players stopped moving for a moment and stared at you, before running to catch up with Your boyfriend. Weird.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME? AKAAAAASHI!"

'What the hell could be his problem?' Akaashi wondered at his best friends sudden distress. "What Bokuto?

"You just ran off on your girlfriend back there. Not cool dude!" Bokuto began to chew out his best friend, in a loving way of course.

"Yeah man, she sounded disappointed." Hauki agreed.

"What? No she didn't." Akaashi argued back. Despite his confidence in the situation he began internally questioning whether he was wrong while simultaneously repeating your conversation in his head. The pair had made him question himself for a minute, but he brushed it off. He knew you way more than they did. If you were upset he would've seen it in your eyes. For sure you would have done that cute thing you do where you can't look him in the face and cross you arms getting fidgety.

"You didn't even kiss her bye!" Bokuto scoffed.

"We were running late." your boyfriend defended further.

"SO!" Bokuto's jaw dropped as he scolded him. "You ALWAYS have to at least kiss goodbye!"

"Yeah man." Hauki jumped back in. "My girl would have threw a fit!"

"The girls you are into are different." he began to explain. "(Y/n) is more like me. We aren't so loud and in your face with our relationship. We know how each other feels and thats plenty for us. Constant displays of affection aren't necessary."

"ROMANCE BRO. From time to time you gotta let her know she's blowing your mind! Don't get too comfortable & lose her bro."

"Yeah you'll never get laid acting like that." Kuroo responded as he caught up finally and heard his last response. Akaashi just rolled his eyes at their worries. If only they knew..

"She's going to leave you one day if you don't shape up." Hauki added before walking to grab a volleyball.

"I hate to say it man but he's right." agreed Bokuto.

"Girls want to feel wanted." The three of them sang in sync, almost as if they have practiced this.

"Make some moves soon bro. I would hate to see my OTP turn to NO-TP." Kuroo half-joked.

"Shut up you idiots." Akaashi sighed out, walking to his side of the court, intending to hurry and start playing due to his growing frustration at this sudden critique of his relationship. "I have made plenty of moves. She's fine." The three friends shared a glance before making awkward faces to show their disbelief. Akaashi didn't miss it and sighed loudly before continuing. "I assure you, she knows how I feel about her. You're worrying over nothing. Our relationship is more than ok." Akaashi knew his friends had his best interest in mind so he tried his best to continue to ignore them.
