THE SCARLET BASKET HUNG LOOSELY FROM WARM PALE FINGERTIPS. A beguiling smile graced her lips, listening to her Griffin's poor attempt of a joke. In front of the group, sat a charcoal grey sofa littered with darker halftone dots that faded into the primary grey. "I'm hungry," Kio commented earning an amused glimpse from Lee. "Me too."

"Go get some food, then." Lee made a face spinning around. "Let's go on an adventure!" Before Kio could respond, Lee had roped her arm in the boy's pulling him away from Target's furniture supply. "Where are we going?"

Lee grinned, abruptly pulling the boy down an aisle. Kio laughed at the sight. Candy lined the walls of the aisle. It didn't take long for the pair to fill their small basket with a bunch of sweets. Next was the goldfish, a snack both agreed beat any other. After paying for the snacks, Anthony told them they didn't have to look at furniture with the group. That was something neither party minded.

In the end, Kio and Lee found themselves perched atop a beanbag sharing humorous Instagram posts. In between performing a Instagram boomerang, Kio's phone erupted into vibrations. "Who is it?"

"Adi."

In a mere second, Kio answered the call slipping another goldfish into his mouth. "Yooooo, bro." Kio grinned, "What's up, B?" Kio flipped the camera letting Lee wave. "Where y'all at?"

"We're hiding on a beanbag under a table eating candy in Target." Silence. Kio met Lee'e gaze before the two bursted into laughter. "Um, we're shopping for stuff for the new house."

"Oh, so you're with everyone?"

"Anthony and Griffin are here but I'm only with Lee."

"Oh, okay, okay. I was just wondering if you were with Jaden." Kio made a face glancing up at Lee who simply smiled. A small part of both of them high on the sugar they had so easily stuffed their mouths with. "I was with Jaden. He's with Mads."

"Well, what are you━what are you up to? Just shopping?"

"Yep."

"Did you buy anything, bro?" Kio smirked looking down on the empty Skittles bag in his lap. "Lee and I bought ourselves some snacks."

"Ahhhh, alright. Well, what are you doing for the rest of the night?" Kio and Lee exchanged an awkward glimpse before returning to their giggles. "We're just chilling."

"Y'all just vibing. Why you━why you acting awkward?"

Lee's eyebrows pulled into a furrow, "You're acting awkward!" Kio chuckled. "What do you mean I'm acting awkward?!"

"I'm not━I'm not acting awkward."

"Shut up before I kiss you."

Lee laughed pulling a KitKat from its crimson packaging. "Shut up before I record you, bro." Adi flipped the camera showing Kio the camera set on him. "Oh, shit, bro." Curious, Lee leant over onto Kio's beanbag trying to see what was happening. "That's why I was acting awkward. I'm sorry, guys, I just I was a little nervous in front of the camera."

"Oh, you're camera shy?"

"Yeah. Do, do you mind if I post this?" Kio looked to Lee who simply shrugged. She didn't much care it was like they had given any spectacular details. They didn't know much other than the sugar that tainted their blood leaving them both a bit ditsy and giggly. "Yeah, no problem, go for it."

"Okay, hey, I appreciate you answering my call. I'll miss you, dude. I'll see you soon."

"I'll see you, bro."

"Byyyeee!" Lee shouted. "Bye!" Kio pressed his lips against the camera making a kissy face before smacking the red button and taking another goldfish. "How much candy you got left?" Lee lifted her bag finding the only thing left was the newest addition to her chewing gum stash. "Man, I don't got any."

Kio sighed looking at his suddenly empty bag. "We should probably get some more." Lee nodded getting ready to leave their hiding spot when a ringed hand smacked down on her beanbag. "What the hell are you guys doing?" Griffin questioned crouching down in front of them. Anthony laughed leaning down next to him. "Anthony said to just chill."

"Chill, not hide," Lee pouted at what sounded like a lecture. "We have been shopping all day, mister!" The girl jabbed a pointy finger into his chest before abruptly composing herself. "And, now, we're going to buy more candy." Lee's voice was suddenly calm, a sugar crash setting in quick.

Anthony shook his head, "We're not buying anymore candy."

Griffin nodded before adding on awkwardly, "We didn't end up getting the couch." Lee sighed nodding tiredly. "We should probably just to go the house, then." Kio laughed at the girl's mumbles watching her head sink into the beanbag and her eyes droop. There was a joke amongst the boys that Lee had three personalities. Mom mode, child mode, and quiet teen. Lee's current status had fallen into child mode.

"Alright, Griff. Get her out. Let's go."

"What?! Why me? Why can't you do it?"

"Well, I'm her best friend," Anthony stated matter━of━factly. "So?"

"So that automatically excuses me from having to pick anyone up." Kio laughed shoving Lee's arm. "I'm up," she mumbled pushing off the beanbag before smacking her head on the bottom of the table above her. "Ow!"

Kio unintentionally let slip a giggle earning a pop on the cheek from Lee who was going back for her gum. "Let's go."

Lee slept in the car all the way to the Belair house only to wake up to enter the house and fall asleep on her brother's air mattress instead of her own bed. Josh kicked his mattress earning an inaudible grumble from Lee as she rolled over. "Jesus, what happened to her?" Bryce inquired. "She had too much candy."

Josh chuckled, "That'll do it."
