Darkness. Utter, complete, darkness. Darkness on its own was scary enough, but waking up in a forest in the pitch black of night without any recollection of how you got there was even more so. You feel a sense of unease wash over you, as if you are being watched. You quickly glance around your environment, seeing nothing. You're almost relieved, knowing it's probably just your mind playing tricks on you. That was until you heard a twig snap dangerously close behind you. You whip your head around to see a black creature, much bigger than you. It had huge glowing antlers, making the creature look much taller. At the base of the antlers was some sort of flowering patch. It had wings on its side that faded to a bright glowing red at the tips. and a bright red glowing cross on its head. The creature's large tail swished expectantly, as if waiting for you to move. You take a couple steps back, wanting to put at least some distance between you and the monster before you. The creature bears it's sharp teeth, the sickly red glow illuminating its face in the darkness. In the darkness, it's black coat seemed to be almost nonexistent, but it's silhouette was clear.

The unknown creature hisses, a low rumbling sound following suit. You look on in utter terror, locked where you are, a statue. You stumble backwards a bit, having lost your balance. The creature lets out one last primordial roar before lunging straight for you. Your eyes widen as the creature moves swiftly in your direction. Your fear taking over, your primal instincts force your legs to move, making you run as fast as you can. The low pants of the creature behind you filling the air around you as it bounds after you.

you dare a glance behind you as you run, the horned monster still in pursuit. While being chased, you had not noticed you had run into a wide clearing in the forest. Wanting to get a good look at the thing chasing you, you look again. The creature had a pitch black coat, the moonlight glimmering on it spectacularly. You looked at its face, its teeth still visible. Even without eyes, as you can see now, there was a dangerous spark to the creature. You noticed stripes on its back that you hadn't thought to notice before. It's body was much like that of a big cat minus the cat nose, eyes, whiskers, and tail. Of course, this creature was much bigger than that of a big cat. It was more the size of an Irish deer or a moose. You realized you were slowing down so you quickly stopped admiring the beast and put your attention back to running. Now isn't the time to be distracted. You noticed the comforting moonlight disappear as you left the clearing and entered the dark, unforgiving forest once more. You were on the verge of crying, tears pricked the corners of your eyes as you ran. So many emotions swirling in your mind at once. Fear, frustration, sadness, you prayed this was all just a dream and you were going to wake up any second. You needed to take a break, your legs feeling weak from overexertion. You turned to the right sharply, the creature still hot on your tail. You begin to scan the area for any place to hide. You see a cave with a very small entrance, just big enough for you. But alas, you have already passed it and you can't turn back now.

The forest was dead quiet, only the sounds of you running and the creature following could be heard. You were alone.
