"Class dismissed."

Y/n breathes out a sigh of relief, finally able to stretch her legs again after the long lecture. She carelessly shoves her stuff into her bag after pulling out one of my favourite books. She is the first one to leave home room, her (length) hair following her with grace as she hops off the set of small stairs.

"Wait L/n!" Ricky White called out while almost tripping over the feet and seats of other students. Y/n was too emerged in page 235 to even notice someone trying to get her attention and almost bumped into the door to make it out.

"Forget it, Ricky." The voice behind said boy makes him turn around, already despising the idea that the voice belonged to no other than Daniel Smith. The boy removes his resting foot from the table and sends an obvious taunting smirk at Ricky, "You're number 26 man, just give it a rest. Everybody knows she's unavailable."

"Well, that makes her all the more desirable, doesn't it?" Ricky sneers at Daniel, fire flaming in his eyes. Daniel has always been a step further ahead than him, in anything, whether it would be about school or Y/n.

Daniel can't help but snicker at his classmate's attempt of intimidation, "Easy there prince charming, we're all in the same zone." He stands up with his backpack already packed and leaves the classroom along with the others, leaving Ricky standing there consumed by his tendency to break the 'stuck up' boy's nose.

It isn't difficult to catch up with Y/n's pace, as long as she has something in her hands that she can read. That doesn't mean her chances of bumping into things is minimalistic though. Open lockers being one of the evil sources of tiny cuts and bruises on her nose. She is a book girl, but it's imaginable people at her college call her hardcore instead of clumsy. After all, who would shame such an intriguing girl who is even able to charm her teachers into giving her several bathroom breaks so she can read and skip parts of the boring classes? Jealous people yes, but even for them it's difficult to act in such way if she's constantly being nice.

"Watch it."

Y/n's book gets snatched from her hands and she immediately stops in her tracks, "Excuse me-! "She looks up to only find a tree standing in her path, merely two inches away from her face. She scrunched her nose for a second and turns around to meet eyes with the boy from across the street.

"Could have ruined that pretty forehead of yours." Daniel's blinding grin makes Y/n return the gesture.

"Aren't you just my knight in shining armour." Y/n teases and retrieves her book, "Always showing up on time except for class."

Daniel ignores the snarky remark and leans with his elbow against the tree, "You see this bark?" He knocks with his fist on it, returning his hand immediately and letting out a quiet hoarse shriek of pain. Quickly twisting his expression to back to normal, Y/n can't help it but to not take him seriously.

"lt could have knocked you out." He mused soulful as if Y/n was the one who scraped her knuckles clumsily.

Y/n raises his eyebrows at him in amusement and looks over Daniel's shoulder to see their bus has arrived. "Let's go home, I'm starving." She pats his shoulder and they both head their way to the bus shelter half a mile from s/n.
