"Hunter?"
"Yes Claire?"
"Listen to the waves", she said.
I listened. I breathed in the salty air and felt the cold ocean breeze go through me as I stared at the sunset. We were the only ones on the sea cliff and the beach was vacant of its usual swimmers and families.
"Do you remember the first time we met?", Claire asked gazing at me with those glowing eyes.
"You mean the time I saved you from getting hit by that pickup truck that could've ended your life? Yeah I don't think I'm going to forget that any time soon", I replied with a grin. She gave me a stern look, and turned to watch the sun set behind the fiery landscape. The light illuminated her entire body but it was her face that shone like the sun ever so radiating.
"It happened for a reason, the whole thing with me almost getting ran over", she said with a hushed voice. "I just... I just don't see myself living without you. I can't picture my life without having met you, it was destined to happen."
I studied her and an immense urge to kiss her came over me but I pondered on what she had said, she was right. "That day I wasn't really planning on going for my run, I sort of just had the feeling that I had to," I said."When I started running I knew something was different about it...I can't explain it bu-"
I was interrupted by the smell of vanilla as she put her mouth on mine and I felt myself float to a whole different world. I grabbed her waist and brought her closer to me as I felt the warmth of hands touch my face. We went on like this for a while until she pulled away and once again turned to gaze at the sunset as the sound of waves set a peaceful aura around us.
She smiled at the ocean and said, "Hunter. I want you to promise me something."
"Anything for you Claire."
