AUTHOR'S NOTE

Just as a heads up, this is not the most canon fanfiction.  While the ending is mostly accurate and rings true to what's shown in The Last Jedi, I took some creative liberty and changed the name of the island (if there is one) and the characters. 

There wasn't much information when I wrote this five months ago (not that I really checked back then), so I just made up whatever and molded it to fit my story.  Since then, during my editing process, I have done my research about some things, but honestly, Star Wars is one those fandoms with so many different canon and non-canon storylines,  it's really difficult to make your story 100% accurate (even when using Wookiepedia and other similar platforms), and it's just confusing.

I also wanted to approach Ben Solo's pre-Kylo-Ren personality my own way.  I thought about making him super sweet (and if I ever write another, unrelated story to this he probably will be), but I love writing banter so he's going to be sassy.

Honestly, there are so many personality types that I want to write for him (BECAUSE BEN SOLO IS SO UNDERRATED), that sassy just made sense for this particular fanfiction :D

So for those of you who are strict, canon-only fanfiction readers (which is totally fine!), I don't think this for you. 

But for those of you who are not, please enjoy the story!
