"Okay we're here." Yasuko Takahashi sinks into her seat.
"Is this a good idea? What if it goes totally wrong? What if I mess everything up? What if-." Yasuko's dad snaps his fingers at Yasuko. She looks over and slowly sits up.
"You're going to be fine," He says. "Take some deep breaths, four seconds in and seven seconds out." Yasuko does this breathing exercise a few times until she feels a bit more calm.
"Okay. Thanks dad." Yasuko says. She opens the car door and gets out of the car. She waves goodbye to her father and turns to face the building. She adjusts her shirt and walks toward the stairs that lead up to the entrance. She walks into the building and looks around at all of the many people.
'Ugh, my hands won't stop shaking.' She thought. She rubs her hands together and keeps walking, looking around. 'There are so many people here. Now where is it I'm meant to be?' She thinks again. Yasuko follows the crowd to an auditorium. She finds a place to sit and waits for the presentation to start. While waiting another girl walks over to Yasuko and takes a seat next to her. She has red and purple ombre hair and brown eyes. Yasuko doesn't make eye contact until the girl talks to her.
"Hey there! I see that your hands are trembling...I'm assuming you're nervous as well?" The girl asked Yasuko, smiling widely. Yasuko looks over embarrassed and shoves her hands in her lap.
"Y-Yeah I am...I'm just really nervous that I won't get into U.A. I wanna prove myself to be useful." Yasuko says to the girl, worriedly. The girl puts out her hand to shake it.
"The name is Hyun-Ji! Yasuko shakes her hand.
"My name is Yasuko, Yasuko Takahashi!"
"Nice to meet you Takahashi! I'm pretty nervous as well to be honest, but I'm sure you'll make it in!" Yasuko smiles softly.
"Same for you! Oh and um, you can call me Yasuko. She gives Yasuko a thumbs up and a smile. The two girls continue to talk when a man with very tall hair walks onto the stage to quiet everyone down. Yasuko looks closer and slightly recognizes the man.
'Is that Present Mic? I've listened to a couple of his radio shows but not enough to be certain.' She thinks.
"WELCOME STUDENTS AS OF TODAY YOU WILL YOU ALL GET TO PROVE IF YOU TRULY CAN BECOME A HERO OR NOT!"
As Present Mic continues to explain more about what to expect in the arena and how points can be gained. However, both girls notice a boy with fluffy green hair muttering to himself. He's pretty loud and hasn't stopped for a couple minutes. Soon Present Mic on the stage stops talking and stares at the boy. Then, a blue-haired male with glasses stands up and begins to ask why there's a robot with no points, to which he gets an answer, but after he turns around and begins disiplin the boy about being quiet and not talking when administrators are talking because it's disrespectful. As Yasuko looks in his direction she gets a bit irritated.
'I know the muttering is a bit distracting but you could have at least told him nicely. No need to be so aggressive about it.' Yasuko thinks
She turns back towards the stage and tries to ignore him. Soon enough he stops talking and sits back down so Present Mic continues talking about how the entrance exam is going to play out and how to gain points. After, both Hyun-Ji and Yasuko get where they are intended to go.
"What stadium did you get?" Yasuko asks Hyun-Ji
"Oh! I got stadium C! And you?
Yasuko smiled and said, "Same here! I'm really glad that we are together in the same stadium!" Hyun-Ji forcefully hugs Yasuko, but not too painfully. Together they walk to the entrance to find many different people with many different hair colors. A loud voice is suddenly heard which causes both Hyun-Ji and Yasuko to jump.
"WELCOME TO THE ENTRANCE EXAM!"
The man from the auditorium began to speak again.
"THERE WILL BE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME TO GET AS MANY ROBOTS AS POSSIBLE!"
People start to quickly rush toward the entrance and both girls follow.
"REAL BATTLES DON'T HAVE COUNTDOWNS, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?"
Everybody rushes out the door. Hyun-Ji goes her way and Yasuko goes hers. As nervous as she is, she's going to try her hardest. The exam has officially begun.
