Chapter one, 'Strumming my pain with his fingers,'

I woke up to the sound of a small animal squeaking. My body almost felt numb, as it touched a.. cold floor? Maybe a basement. But, what would I be doing in a basement..? I opened my eyes. It was completely dark. It went silent, and I shuffled around. I soon realized that I didn't have any clothes on. I was naked, on the basement floor. This couldn't be happening. Was I kidnapped?! I panicked, trying to get up. My feet were tied together with rope, and my hands were tied behind my back.

I tried to remember what had happened, maybe I was drugged, or someone picked me up off of the street while I was drunk. Then I remembered, I snuck into someone's house after I had gotten kicked out of my apartment. I was just desperate, looking for somewhere to live and someone to talk to. He had offered me coffee when he suddenly saw me walk into his home, which was strange. You'd think he'd call the police like a normal person. He told me he would let me stay here, if I needed any place to stay. I told him my name, and agreed to his offer. But when my back was turned, everything went black.

I struggled. There was cloth in my mouth, stopping me from trying to scream the loudest I could. But I still tried, my screams just came out muffled signs of someone was down in this mans basement. But.. he had never told me his name.

I closed my eyes, hoping this was just some scary nightmare that was going on. But I couldn't wake up. I sighed, as I moved my legs as one and felt something colder then the floor. It felt like.. a wrench. It was a basement, or so I thought. I moved my feet, trying to kick the wrench up to my tied hands behind my back. Sadly I failed, and the wrench just made a loud noise against the floor when I kicked it.

I closed my eyes. I was tired, and cold. I didn't know where I was, and I didn't know what to do. I just hoped that I would get out of this dark place very soon.
