Preface

Everything was moving so quickly, it's hard to breath. It seems like it was only yesterday when I moved into this small town, now I'm graduating and choosing my new life. My friends are moving away, my family members are staying. But there's this one boy, that makes my heart pound just at the sight of him. The funny thing is, I barely even know him.

I've seen him in stores and things like that, but that's it. Anyplace else and it's like he is just a figment of my imagination. His dark hair, perfect face structure, and delicious mussels were enough to make anyone fall head over heals for him. But me, I feel like there's this strong connection between us. I can't really explain it, other than it feels like this rope of flaming desire that's pulling me towards him. One of these days I'm gonna find out what's going on, and why I feel drawn to him.

Chapter One

New Beginning

I finished packing my last box, and carefully carried it to my truck. Inside the box was all the pictures and other gadgets from my friends over the years. As I put it in my truck I looked back at the white, three story house that I grew up in. I sighed as my eyes roamed over towards the tree my mother and I planted when I was six.

A smile was drawn on my face as the memory of my mother and I planting that tree came with welcome into my thoughts. I was only six, and I loved getting my hands dirty. We both had on our matching overalls and wicker hats. She smiled at me and her eyes danced with excitement. She told me that with time and care, the tree will get as tall as the sky. I asked her if I would be like Jack and The Bean Stalk and be able to climb it and find giants. She smiled warmly at me and said if I believe hard enough, anything was possible. Then we finished planting.

Tears welled up in my eyes. A year after that my mother became ill and passed away. After that, I would go down to that tree and talk to it, thinking maybe she'd be there again. Maybe if I believed hard enough, she'd come back. But it never happened. My mother was gone...but not completely. I still had all the memories, and pictures. She was right when she told me that when you love someone, they'll always be with you, in your heart.

I wiped the tears from my eyes and put the box inside my Ford F150 2009 red truck. I pulled out my cell phone, and called my dad. I told him I got the last of my things and was on my way to the new house. Then hung up and got in my truck, started it, and pulled out of the driveway.

On my way to my new life. My new school, my new house, new friends, new everything, pretty much. I just hope that this new beginning will be better than what my life used to be like.

When I got to the new house, I was greeted by my dad (aka Henery), his new wife (aka Linda), my step brother (aka Josh), and my step sister (aka Kelli).  They're all city people except for my dad and I.  Josh is on his phone, playing sports, at the mall, or playing around with girls.  Kelli and Linda go to spas, malls, tanning salons, get their nails done, or hair pretty much everyday! I honestly can't stand people like that.

Josh has golden hair, tanned skin, muscular body, and purple eyes that hypnotise you. Kelli looks identicle to a barbie doll. She has the perfect blond hair, blue eyes, and perfect body structure.  Linda, well she's kinda fake, but she too looks like a barbie. No wrinkles, perfect blond hair like her daughter's, and grey eyes. No wonder why my dad was attracted to her. They're actually very nice people,  but Josh gets on my nerves with the perverted comments, and Kelli does with all the shopping and stupid girly stuff she always wants to do with me. UGH!

Me, I'm just your average Joe.  I have long, chocolate, chest length hair. Hazel eyes. I'm not fat, but I don't have Kelli's or Linda's perfect figure either. I'm just average. Maybe that's why all the guys around here never look at me, I thought to myself.

"Miley, we have school tomorrow, do you want to go shopping for some clothes?" Kelli asked me, batting her eye lashes.

I have tons of clothes, I thought, but maybe I should buy new ones since I want to try to fit in more at this school. Not to mention the fact that I now live with the two most popular kids at the school.

"Yeah, sure. Which vehicle are we taking?" I asked.

"Mine," Josh said form behind me.

Great, I hate going to the mall as it is. Now I have to go with Josh, andhis red Ferrari.

I bought so many clothes that it was nuts! I also bought a few shoes as well. After hanging them all up and putting my new converse and boots away, I laid on my bed and looked at my mother's picture.

"Miley, can I come it?" Linda asked me from behind my shut bedroom door.

"Yeah, come in." I told her, and set down the picture.

She opened the door and walked over towards me. She sat down on my bed and fixed her black office skirt and her purple blouse as she crossed her legs.

"Honey your father and I are going to be in Europe for the next two months for a business trip. We'll leave money, if you need more, you know where to find it. Josh and Kelli will help you get situated in school. I'm so sorry that we're leaving on such short notice."

"It's okay."

That night I had a hard time sleeping. I had the feeling that tomorrow was going to be one of those days that I wish I could be invisible. Like I could banish into this air. I just hope that this feeling will go away soon. Otherwise I'm not sure I'll be able to convince my self to go to school.
