The Nerd In Me

Chapter Seven

"Mavis",I screamed while running behind her in the staircase.

"Wait I am coming too. . . Mavis." I screamed again.

She stopped.

"hey. . . What happend. . . where are you going" , I asked.

"I am going to get my notebook from the staff room." , Mavis said.

"Ohh wow! Which notebook? ", I asked.

"Whats so Wow in that??",She said

"hmm nothing really, I replied.

"Which notebook . . . Anyway,I asked again hoping she would tell me this time.

"Science",She said.

"Ohh even I need to get mine. . . Can I come along with you?",I asked.

"Sure Josephine. . . You need'nt ask for this. . . You are my friend. . . You can come along whenever you want!",She said smiling.

I did not know what to say next so I was blank for a while.

But then I said, "That was so sweet of you! "

I had gotten this dialogue from a movie though.

I walked beside her. She asked me how my test was. . . Again. . . I said that it was fine!

I asked why had she asked again.

She said, "You said it was Bad. . . Now you say it was fine. . . I did not understand. . . Why did Jenny react like that when you said. . . yours was Bad. . . Is there some problem? "

I explained her everything.

"Look Mavis. . . . Jenny. . . teases me. . . Wait not only Jenny. . . Everybody teases me. . . . They call me Nerd. . . they call me boring and iritating. . . .I mean I am sure Jenny didnt want to go along with me to the Amusement park. . . I think he still doesnt want to. . . It just because. . . . . "

I paused.

She asked, "Just because. . . . just because. . . What? Josephine"

"Its beacause of you!",I said

"ME?" ,She asked confused.

"Yes you! Jenny likes you. . . and since you are my friend and you wanted me to come he accepted. . . because he . . doesnt want to lose. . lose . . . such a pretty girl. . . . such a nice friend. . . Who would want to? ",I said with expression which was not familiar to me either.

"What? ",She said

"He likes me more than a friend? "

"Yeah. . . Much more than a friend! ", I said.

"But . . .But in my old school, talking like this was. . . was just friendship. . . Not Love. . . . Not at all Love",She said.

"But. . . here. . . This what Love means. . . he is talking to you differently. . . not like he talks to everyone. . That is Love.",I said.

"Hmm but. . But . . I dont get it. . I dont really like him as much! You know what i mean?? I dont love him." She said making the weirdest expressions ever!!

"Umm. . I dont know what you can do about, sorry but im not. . . im not used to all this. Maybe u cud just not go to amusement park with him??", I said.

"You mean ditch him? Really. . ditch him?", She said

I had no clue what ditch meant. . So i just nodded my head.

"Okay. . . maybe i shudnt! Can we just tell him we dont wanna go?? " , She said.

"Maybe! okay!", I said.

There was an awkward silence continuing after this, But suddenly she resumed, "What about the tickets that i booked for the amusement park? "

"You booked tickets?? When??", I said very confused!

"Actually.... Ummmm... I was gonna go to the amusement park with my cousins. But then they refused because they were gonna go out of staition! I agreed do book the tickets and come along because i had the tickets and I didnt want to waste them." She said staring at me,She was really nervous.

"Ohh!", Is all i could say!

"How about we cancel the plan with Jenny? And U and me go?" Maybe ill take my brother along?? Fine with you??", She said.

"You have a brother??", Was the first thing I said.

"Yup! He is a year elder to me! He is in a different school but! " , She said.

"Ohh okay. . im fine! Tomorrow amusement park! But wait what time??", I said.

"Maybe 10:30??" , She said.

"Okay! But can u pick me up??",I asked.

" Heyy!! Obviously I can!",She said.

"So ill be ready at 10:30!", I said.

"Nope!! We need to reach at 10:00 So we are gonna Start at 10:00. So be ready by ten! ,She said.

"Okay!!", I said.

I said yes! But would i fit in with her brother? I hope he is not like Jenny! As i was about to say. . . That i dont wanna come. . .

She said, "I will go talk to Jenny! Byee! "

I said, " Byee"
