It all started in the summer when I was stuck in summer school. I didn't know why I was here. My grades were okay. I had sixties and seventies. I failed a few classes. A few hundred. My mom told me if I failed again, I'd get kicked out of school. "I'm okay with that." I muttered under my breath. Sighing my mom just left my room, she muttered something under her breath. It sounded something like "wait until Anaz and all of us get you. You and your sister." That night I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about what mom said, playing it over and over in my head. "Who's Anaz? What did mom mean about 'all of us?' All of who?" I kept asking myself questions out loud. The next morning I went down stairs and found mom and dad in the kitchen. Mom was making breakfast and dad was sitting at the table reading a newspaper. "Morning, guys." They both spoke in unison as if they were being controlled like robots. "Morning." I stayed up all night thinking about what mom said. "Mom, dad, who's Anaz?" The name seemed to frighten them. "Where did you hear that name?" Dad was at my side in less than a minute. Mom dropped the dish she was holding and started to shake. "Don't worry about it. It's nothing." I refused to believe her. "Just go to school and have a nice day. We'll answer any questions about Anaz when we feel the time is right." Her voice cracked as she talked. "Here. I'll drive you." She grabbed the keys to our Kia Sedona and we got into the car. After we were both in, mom started the car and we took off. Anaz. The name stuck in my head. "Mom? You never told me. Who's Anaz?" She frowned. "It's just a made up person that me and your father created years ago." I looked at her. "How long ago? Your not that old. Dad isn't either." She just kept driving. "Okay. You have arrived at your destination." I couldn't help but laugh. "Thank you, gps." Mom started laughing too. "I'll ask you more questions later." That took her smile away. She shook her head. "No. I don't think that's a good idea." I frowned. "What do you mean?" She just shook her head some more. "Never mind. See you later!" I got out of the car and walked into school. Here comes another day of boredom, I thought. Walking into the classroom, I saw kids running around and throwing papers everywhere. Screaming they all started attacking each other.
