I stare outside the car window, glaring at the birds flying past in slow motion and pink clouds. I arch my head forward, fake smiling at my family. It was all in slow motion, everyone was happily shining with euphoria, blabbering on how excited they are to move in, while I just sat there minding my own business... I couldn't hear them anyway. Either way, the silence was clogging up my brain.
I feel a little tug on my t-shirt, I look down noticing a small toddler wiping away her tears while moving her mouth. I sit their paralyzed awkwardly, not knowing what to do since I couldn't hear her cries. My big brother, Hitami snatches my little sister from her car seat probably explaining why I didn't answer her.
"Sweetie, please unpack your luggage please." My tired kind mother sign languages to me, I nod my head and quickly dash to my new room. I unpack all of my luggage, proud of myself for unpacking all on my own. I feel a quick tap on my shoulder, I jump and turn around shaken a little.
I open my mouth surprised, "K-keyboard!" My mother says for no reason and attempts to make room for the item in my bedroom. As soon as she placed the object down, I snatched a spinny black chair from my desk and placed it next to the keyboard. I've wanted a keyboard since I was a child and she finally got it for me.
My parents just stood there awkwardly at the door, wondering how and why I was going to play the musical instrument. I couldn't even play as I could feel their glares, putting me in an uncomfortable situation. "Ah. Sorry!" My mother signs languages and shut my door.
I grab ahold of my skinny blue jeans, grinding my teeth. 'W-why did force parents to get keyboard?!' (Grammar bad because she's deaf) I sign, I stand up from my seat and I lay down on my bed, with goosebumps all over my skin. I stare into the distance from my window, I widen my eyes as particles play follow the leader all the way to my keyboard, I sit up shocked.
'Did see correctly?' I look back and forth on where the particles came from and decide my final decision. 'Okay..' I grip my hoodie and sit back down onto the chair, I lay out my hands gently onto the keyboard.
I smile gently, I liked the feeling of the fresh crisp notes. I close my eyes, my hands have gripped onto the keyboard playing by itself... I widen my eyes as I feel a gentle teardrop glide onto my hand. His buddies seemed curious and wanted to join him, I let go of the keyboard and wipe my tears as his buddies kept on following.
I feel a gentle tap on my shoulder once again, "Are you okay?" my mother says slowly and hooks her arm on my shoulder. "Mm!" I nod my head in response. An arm on my shoulder suddenly turns into a passionate hug.
I love my mother, she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. She is the reason why I still live... She grabs a tissue out of her pocket and wipes the tears leaking out of my eyes. I notice my older sister, Akira staring at me weirdly with her arms crossed.
"Mother! I feel like..." Her personality changes in 2 seconds, "You aren't hanging out with me enough!" She lays on her knees weak, 'crying'. My sister is a spoiled brat, she hates me and I hate her. She's an attention seeker and teases me by speaking to me even though I can't hear.
Mother gets up off her feet and runs to Akira to hug her, tightly. Akira closes her eyes and pokes her tongue at me as I roll my eyes. I turn to my keyboard and smile gently, 'Keep on playing!' I thought.
I widen my eyes as I feel momentum on my left shoulder, suddenly I get pushed forcefully onto the side of my bed, gladly landing on the soft sheets. I attempt to sit back up but I notice Akira pulling me down. I turn to behind her, mother wasn't there... "Ah!" I clunch my fists as she kicks me in the stomach.
Akira starts to speak, I stare into her eyes with sorrow but she ignores it and looks away. She chuckles I think as she lands one look at my new keyboard, "n-no..." I sit back up but she pushes me down again. 'Why am I so weak?! I'm technically LETTING her break my keyboard!' I think.
"AH!" I screamed as loud as I could, but I couldn't hear anything, no one could... It felt like I was sinking in the middle of the ocean, attempting to swim up but there's a huge boulder hooked around your ankle. You couldn't gasp for air, you were helpless like you never existed.
I look up to my brother Hitami pushing Akira out of the way, I sit up surprised but happy at the same time. He closes the door and hugs me, landing on the soft bed sheets. Hitami let's go and we both sit up on the bed, I chuckle. "Are you okay?" My brother says slowly, apologizing.
I love my brother, he's another reason why I exist in this hatred world. Hitami has helped me through my darkest times, and I want to help him when he is in sorrow too. "Mm!" I nod my head. I look down, I always have to count on someone to do my job for me...
"Anyway, it's getting late. You should go to bed" He sign languages to me, so I nod once again. I change into my pajamas and head straight into the bedsheets. 'Your worthless, helpless. No one even knows you exist!', 'You should just kill yourself, no one would miss you anyway.'
I crunch my fists, 'Shut up An...' Can I tell you a secret? Well, I have a voice inside of my head. I call her An, short for Anxiety. This always seems to happen when I attempt to fall asleep, that's why I have insomnia and can't sleep most of the time.
