"Reality isn't always what it seems. There are twists and turns. Everything we do effects our reality, even the simplest of things. No mat-" I was interrupted by the ringing of my school bell. I let out a small sigh, I was actually looking forward to this presentation.
"That's it for today class remember to read your textbooks, pages 44 through 47 are due tomorrow!" My teachers voice slowly rises as the students flood out of the classroom. I pack my bag and walk out of the room, laptop in one hand and a white water bottle in the other.

My name is Iris Martinez. Im 16 years old living in Houston, Texas, and for the most part I'm a normal teenage girl. I go to a normal school, I have a decent amount of friends, I go to parties, but there's one thing about me that no one else is interested in. I'm obsessed with the theory of alternate universes and the ability to alter the time line. Other than that I'm normal as can be. Around school I know people and people know me, but I'm not popular nor am I an outcast, if you know what I mean.

"Hey Iris!" A girl with a ponytail and a red scrunchies approaches me. This was my 'best friend', Vi, or Violet. We've been friends for as long as I can remember, but not by choice, I don't actually like her, she's toxic as can be and only cares about herself. Our moms are best friends so I was kind of expected to be friends with her. "Sup Vi." I roll my eyes. "Now now, no need to be so rude Isis" I hate that name and she knows it. One person called me it by accident and it's stuck since 6th grade. "Shut up violet" I take a sip from my water bottle and scroll through my phone, trying to ignore her presences. "Anyways you know your crush, the one that plays soccer?" Obviously I knew him, how could I not, he was the cutest guy at our school. "Yes" I replied, hesitant to what she has to say. "Well sorry but he's asking me to prom and not you, it's just we go together more you know? You guys don't run in the same crowd anyways it's just better this way." She does this little wave and walks away. I could feel my blood boiling, but it's okay I was use to it. Violet always got what she wanted, always.

Yaya
"Pssst! Glasses! Do you know the answer to number 4?" A small fragile kid with glasses and hair swooped down his face turns to me with a confused look. "Yeah you!" I give him a friendly smile. "MS ROSA?! What did I say about cheating in my class!" That damn teacher, she's always on my case. "Sorry teach, I'm just not trying to fail." I give her a shrug and return to my test, I hate tests with a passion. I didn't realize how long I had been trying to figure out one question and it was 5 minutes till the bell. Impulsively, I bubbled in every answer, guessing, at least this way I could hopefully pass. Human geography isn't my strong suit, I'm more of a reading person than geography. Just as I'm filling in the last question the bell rings. "Tests to the front of the class! Your online part of the quiz is due tonight at 12 am." I pick up my backpack and walk over to my best friend, Jacob. "There's more to this test?!" I kind of whisper yell at him. "Yes" He let's out a laugh and gives me a smile.

I'm Yaharia Rosa, or as everyone calls me, Yaya. I've lived in Los Angeles, California for all 16 years of my life, except for the one time we moved to Georgia for a month. I've always been a social person, it helps me know people and especially know who to avoid. In this school the more people you know, the less likely you are to get made fun of. People think I'm friends with them, but in reality I just know them, they don't actually know me. The only person that truly knows me is Jacob, he's been my best friend since 7th grade.

"Wanna grab lunch at in n out later?" Jacob asks me, bringing me back to reality. He gives me a small smile, as if waiting for me to answer. "I'm always down for in n out, why do you even ask" I let out a laugh and push him a little to the side. "Ouch that hurt soooo much" He says sarcastically. "Oh yeah cause I'm so strong" I'm obviously not stronger than he his, he's surprisingly strong..and I'm strong but not THAT strong. "Meet me at my car, 12:15, I'm driving this time." I give him a strange look. "What do you mean THIS time? I don't have my drivers license" He gives me a smirk. "I know, and I'm tired of picking you up everyday before school. Nah I'm just kidding, I'll see you later shorty" Why does he always point out that I'm short?! "Whatever loser bye!" I yell as he walks away.
