While her mother was pregnant with her, her father got in an accident while at work and ended up passing away. Then her mother passed away shortly after labor. She had to grow up With her pure-blood grandfather and her muggle grandmother. When Mabel was 8 her grandmother started having the symptoms of Alzheimer's. With her grandmother now ill her grandfather takes care of her and her grandmother. Her grandfather is trying to stay alive as long as he can by living on various medications. After starting Hogwarts, she still keeps up with her muggle schooling during the summer.
