Challenges

A/N: I know I didn't have a picture for this part but it's been getting really hard to find good pictures to have for each chapter so I might not have pictures with every single chapter...Sorry about that. I hope u all enjoy this chapter. I'll try to update tomorrow or Saturday!

*Maddie's POV*

"How do you feel about Asa getting in a fight?" Mrs. Stewart asks trying to get answers but I sit in silence again.

"Are you fine with it?" She asks as I chuckle. And look up at her.

"You know we can't really talk about something that neither of us know anything about." I say finally talking.

"Well he didn't get into a fight with just anyone; it was Ritz. He's both of your friends." She states.

"Yeah but I mean we don't know anything about why they were fighting." My voice cracks as the conversation reminds me of yelling at my dad.

Tears slowly begin to fill up my eyes but I quickly blink them away knowing that I've cried a lot more than I used to. "Maddie it's okay if you don't want to talk about it." Mrs. Stewart says while sensing my discomfort.

I nod and slowly take a deep breath. "Okay." I say a little relieved.

"School will be out in five minutes so if you'd like I can just let you leave really." She explains.

"Thank you." I say getting up and leaving.

As I walk down the hallway I see Asa's mum and the principle having what looks like a very serious conversation while Asa sat at one of the chairs in the waiting room looking down at his phone.

I kept on walking although part of me wanted to stay and talk with Asa about what had happened. But I know he needs some space and honestly do I even want to know about what they fought over?

My phone buzzes interrupting my intense thoughts. I look down to see that Asa had texted me.

Asa: Dinner tonight? I'll explain everything that happened about the fight

Maddie: Sounds like a plan

Asa: I'll pick u up at around 17:00

Maddie: alright can't wait

I put my phone back into my pocket and walk down the school's parking lot to get to my car in silence. It was so quiet I could here when the bell rang in the school. Just before I started up my car I got another texted message from Asa.

Asa: my mum found out about the fight so she's staying after school to talk to the principle. but she kinda took my keys bc she thinks I'm not responsible enough to drive since I got in a fight...so do u mind giving me a ride and we can just drive to a restaurant from here or something?

Maddie: yea sure. I'm already in my car btw

Asa: k I'll be there in like 5 minutes!!

I start to get more and more curious about the fight as the time goes by. What if Asa turns out to be the bad guy? No he can't be....can he? My mind gets bombarded with crazy questions that I can't find the answers to.

I jump as I hear a knock on the window. All the questions stop when I see Asa standing there through the glass. I unlock the door for him and he gets in.

"Ritz thought I was going to break up with you because of your scars." He breaks the silence as I start up the engine.

"What? Why?" I ask confused.

"That's what I thought. And damn...I just love you so much I couldn't even imagine breaking up with you, and him thinking that made me furious, do I just lost my temper and hit him. And then next thing you know I'm punching my best friend." He pauses for a second upset with himself.

"And I understand it's a lot to take in and if you don't believe me I get it but I don't know; I love you so why wouldn't I tell you the truth."

I smile at his words 'I love you', I still haven't gotten over the fact that I'm going out with the love of my life. "I believe you." I say honestly.

He smiles then quickly kisses me on the lips. It was a short kiss but it meant so much. It's like we've just made it past one of the many obstacles that we'll face in our relationship. But it didn't upset me that we could have more challenges like this again. It made me happy that we got past this one.

I kiss him back slowly and passionate.
