I lied down on my bed,my door shut and locked, curtains closed, under my covers. When I got comfortable,I brought out my diary, which was tucked inside my pillow case. A smile plastered on my face as I flipped through my past enteries. Then when I got to a clean page,I pulled out my pencil, and started to write. Today at school my friend Aiden winked at me. He barely gets to spend time with me anymore. He was a social butterfly, and I was more of a shy kind. I continued to write, and got lost into my story.

"Emily?" My mom called while knocking on the door.

"Yeah mom?" I called back, while sitting up.

"Can you open up the door honey,I wanna talk to you about something." She said in a soft voice.

Uh-oh...If she was talking to me in that soft caring voice, that means she wants to talk about how she wants to tear my diary, ripping it up page by page, and throwing it into a bonfire. Okay....Maybe she doesn't say that exactly, but she says something very similar to it. I got up,and opened the door for her to walk in. She entered, and sat down on my bed. I sat down beside her. Then she put her hand on top of mine.

"Emily sweetie,I wanna talk to you about that diary." She said with a soft, but serious voice.

"Here we go again." I sighed.

"Look honey, you need to get more friends, and take away a little time you spend writing in your diary." She said.

"Mom,even if I stop writing in the diary at all,I'll still have the same amount of friends." I argued.

"But sweetheart, your friend Aiden took off a little time of always playing games on the computer, and now look at him, almost everybody in the school is friends with him." My mom said proudly like Aiden was her son.

"Well I'm nothing like Aiden!" I complained.

"Baby please,if you're not going to do it for yourself," My mom picked up my diary from my bed."Then do it for me." She said while pressing the diary against her chest.

I tried to swipe it away from her,but she was quicker than Cat Woman, and retracted her hand.

"Emily,please." She pleaded.

"F-Fine,but only for a day." I said.

My mom stared at me,and arched her eyebrow.

"Okay,two days." I decided.

She continued to stare.

"A week?" I asked.

She still looked at me.

"Fine!A month." I said.

A smile stretched across her face.

"Thank you honey." She said as she got up,and placed a kiss on my forehead.

Then she walked out of the room. I let out a heavy sigh. A month without my diary. How will I even survive? I grabbed a book from my night stand. If I can't write,I guess I'll read. As I flipped the book open,a loud sound boomed through my door. I looked up,and listened. They were talking about politics and stuff. It must've been my mom listening to the news. I sighed. I need somewhere quiet to read. Then I just remembered about the old park our street. I got up,and walked out my bedroom door. I stopped by the living room to tell my mom where I was going. She nodded, but I don't think she could hear me over the loud television. I walked down the street, and stopped by the park. I sat down in the rusty swings. Then a memory came to my mind.

"Push me!Push me!" I screamed in my high pitch voice.

"Okay! Here you go!" Aiden yelled, his voice wasn't high pitch, but it wasn't very low either.
