Forbidden (Lucaya fanfiction)

Chapter 1

Maya's POV:
I set on my bed, cross legged trying to do my algebra homework.

So many numbers and letters.

I threw my pencil on the bed and sat back and relaxed.

I heard a knock on my bedroom door and my mom burst in.

"Hey Maya."

I pushed my photo albums out of sight and looked at her. "Hi mom."

She sighed, taking a seat on the edge of my bed. "You need to move back to New York."

I blinked. "But I love here!"

Mom just shook her head. "I'm sorry Maya, but you need to go back to New York."

"What about you?" I said, fearing her answer.

Mom scooted closer to me and put a hand on my arm. "Just trust me on this one."

I bit my lip as I watched her leave the room.

I'm Maya hart. I'm only 13 years old. In from New York City but my mom dragged me to Colorado last year.

It was hard at first. I had my best friend Riley and her older brother Lucas.

Riley and I still talk sometimes, but it's hard when you live so faraway.

And my mom. We mostly moved to Colorado because she wanted to bond with me easier.

My dad left us when I was baby, so my mom has been a single mother and it hasn't been easy.

If I were to be completely honest, I don't think she's a very good mother.

I just wish I had a mom and a dad who...loved me.

I sat up in bed and reached for my phone.

I unlocked it and opened up my text messages.

To Riley
From Maya
Guess who's coming back to New York

-in New York-
Riley's POV:
I took a bite out of my toast, waiting for my brother Lucas.

My mom came in hurriedly grabbing her keys. "Riley! Why are you still eating?"

"I'm sorry I woke up late." I said, takin another bite.

Mom sighed and put her hands up. "Apparently so is your brother. Lucas get a move on!!"

My dad then came in and saw moms mood. "Oohh is this a bad time??" He asked.

I nodded and mom scowled at us. I shrugged and finished eating, putting my plate in the sink.

"Mom!!!" Lucas yelled down the hallway.

"What???" Mom yelled back.

Suddenly he came in the kitchen, dressed and ready.

"What's wrong Lucas??" Mom asked.

He lifted up his sleeves and showed us his arm.

"Lucas loves Maya??" Mom said, confused.

I giggled, hearing it out loud.

Lucas suddenly came over to my side. "Mom she did this!! And it's in permanent marker!!"

Dad stood by with a coffee cup in his hand. "Riley you did that??"

I nodded slowly.

"Nice one!!" He said highfiving me.

I smiled with pleasure. "We all know it's true."

Lucas pushed his sleeves back to cover it and glared at me.

"I'll get you back." He said.

"Yeah yeah whatever." I said.

My phone beeped.

"Okay come on kids lets go we are running late!!" Mom said, getting out the door.

I picked up my backpack, still looking at my phone.

Then I gasped and said "Maya is coming back!!!"
