As Alice woke up in her studio, she regained her memories from the previous night. While returning from her late night shift in downtown New York, she fell asleep on the elevator on the way to her room. Alice was awakened by a stranger that was noticeably way taller than her. He to crouched down to wake her up. Alice had been so startled that she accidentally knocked her head with the stranger. As startled, the mysterious man was knocked back and landed on the grey, cold, elevator floor with a thud. Alice frantically apologized and grabbed his hand to pick him up. As she tried to lift him up, she looked at his midnight blue eyes that were slightly hidden by his black hair. It wasn't until he asked her to let go of his hand that she did. Since they were the only two people in the elevator, she could feel the awkwardness in the room rise floor by floor. Alice had felt so embarrassed that the man had to wake her up. As she turned to apologize, the elevator doors opened and he rushed out. Bitting back words, she leaned back, defeated, and let the music in the elevator take its toll.

Although Alice would have loved to continue pondering about the beautiful stranger all morning, she had an entire day planned the day. So she could not run the risk of falling behind. First item on her list was to open her computer to check if she got any responses from the colleges she had applied to earlier that week. After a while and with no luck, she turned off her computer and checked social media. She found her old classmates at a bar having a party, getting drunk and taking pictures with their boyfriends and future husbands. "How lucky", she thought. Alice felt her loneliness grow as she scrolled down further and grew more and more. Knowing she was on a schedule, she put her phone aside and put on some of her favorite music and started to organize her papers for an interview she had later. Without even 10 minutes in, she heard a knock on her door.
