On Tuesday nights, Jarek does what he does every night- he sits and talks to the voices inside his head. Not voices- the voice. Her voice. The only voice left in this lonely place that connects him to home.
She is his puppet master. She tells him what to say when talking to Greg, what he should do on a daily basis, how to live as a human. How to stop loving and caring. How to hate and lust. Sometimes he tells her to leave but not often. He could not risk losing her. But sometimes Jarek finds it very difficult not to lose his temper. Especially when he knows what he must do. His destiny. She often tries to convince him to start, go and do what must be done. But she must trust him. The careful plan of the last eight years could be ruined if he moves too early.
In a way, Jarek's Tuesday night goes like this: he'll talk to Gregoria as she natters away in his ear- sometimes useful, sometimes not ; then they'll talk about Greg after she's gone, general things like how much she's grown, new hair, new shoes, she seemed sadder, sadder, sadder; eventually she will bring up the plan and they'll argue- "It is my destiny! NOT YOURS!"- and if all goes badly she will leave for a while; if not, they stay silent and Jarek will do his homework with her helping, they'll watch TV and then he'll go and lie and wait for her to "fall asleep" before sleeping himself.
Jarek's life is centered around her and his fear of leaving. He would do anything to make her happy and nothing to make her sad.
Except when it comes to Gregoria.
