The Advent of Uncertainty

"Queen's right. I can pick up where to go, but not where to step. If the floor starts to crumble around you, then holler at us a bit and we'll help you out."

The group then continued down the hall and past a few shadow fights until they arrived at a massive open room that went down into the seemingly endless abyss. In the center of it was a large crystal of light that was shooting at the wall. Madran then picked up two possible routes to go to and looked at Akira.

"Well, Joker, we now have a massive fork in the road: one way leads to a cool crystal, while the other leads to... a ballista. Which one do you want to take?"

"We'll head to the ballista. You guys can take the crystal."

"Gotcha. Well, see ya soon!"

Madran then led her group down a path that went to the south and down. Then, once she turned a corner, she saw a button on a pedestal.

"Ok, well, whoever wants to press it, I guess."

Wysteria then tapped it, which caused eight sarcophaguses to rise from the ground. They then all opened to reveal buttons.

"Um, ok, well, the path leads to all eight of these. Ooh, look, something on the wall..."

Following Madran's observation, Sheila looked at the wall.

"Well, it says '56287134.' Um, could this be the order in which we press the buttons...?"

Madran then went to press the fifth, sixth, second, eighth, seventh, first, third, and fourth buttons, which caused them all to fall over. Then, the wall behind the pedestal crumpled to the ground, revealing an Anubis statue with a gem in its hand. Madran then took the gem and turned back to see a few Anubises staring them down.

"Oh, well, of course. Everyone, let's take them out!"

Wysteria then looked at Sheila.

"Hey, I know a quick way to finish this. Why not your Petrali and my Maeigaon?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Ok, well, I call it Blood Curse! Now, go!"

Wysteria then summoned Nadja, with Sheila invoking Nefertiti. Then, several waves of cursed energy shot out from Nadja's flower, which was added to by several lasers fired from Nefertiti's orb. These waves then hit the shadows, which didn't hurt them at first but then fully solidified them in stone.

"Ok, well, Clown, finish the job!"

Chicory then summoned Yorick, who shattered all of the Anubises with a Heat Wave. Madran then walked back to the main room to see that the wall that the beam of light was hitting had been completely shattered, allowing for it to shine through.

"Well, I think they found the ballista."

"Yep. Where are they?"

"Um, hold on..."

Madran then scanned the area to see that Akira's group were approaching their location.

"Well, they're coming, just give them time."

"Ok."

The group waited around for a few minutes, with Akira's group finally ascending the stairs to where they went and regrouping with Madran's team.

"Hey, guys, what happened?"

"Well, we found the ballista, which completely wrecked that wall over there. Like, goodness, if only these things were that good in real life, huh?"

"Yep. Well, all signs point towards this pedestal right here."

Madran then walked up to a white pedestal with a small circular indent and placed the gem in it. Then, a set of blocks formed in midair and formed a path to later sections of the massive room.
