I looked down at my wrist to see red confetti flailing wildly in the absent wind. It was a party, oh how nice of them! They knew I loved surprises most of all. This was surely one of the coolest ones yet.
Last week it was half-digested cake sinking in a grisly toilet and the week before that was an overwhelmingly long slumber party. I kid you not I couldn't move for 5 business days! The look on my face was hilarious when I finally woke up to see the rising sun. Honestly didn't think I'd make it but surprise surprise, here I am.
They've been leaving subtle hints for years now but lately, they've been really going all out. Physical wonders which leave me questioning my health but apart from that I've been alright. Except for today. I knew it was something more than just a shock.
The confetti writhed uncontrollably as the blade left my arms. I think they've done it again and to my revelation, it didn't stop after 10 minutes. The music started and rung in my ears as I tried to picture what could be underneath all of this wrapping... A present, perhaps?! I sure hope so! I haven't been given anything lately, including the daily dose if ya know what I mean.
But I wanted to see immediately! I could barely contain my excitement as I promptly began scratching at my wrist. When the confetti wouldn't budge, I used my nails to break the barrier between me and whatever present lay underneath. How intriguing.
The temptation was too immense. Something tried to stop me but I kept digging further and further. I screamed out like a spoilt child.
"ICH WILL SEHEN!! ICH WILL SEHEEEENNNN!!!!"
Ich hörte Schreien und schockiertes Keuchen von der Tür.
"Was hast du getan, du ungezogenes Kind?" It mocked.
I didn't stop until someone physically held me down. The last thing I remember was the metallic taste of blood in my mouth and the flimsy liquorice strips hanging from my mouth.
It didn't taste like liquorice.
Überraschung!
