Alternative Present - Narnia

"This is boring." Lucie said, hitting a ball with her wooden mallet with far too much strength, watching it roll away from the hoop she was aiming at.

"You only say that because you're loosing." Clary replied, easily sending her own wooden ball through another hoop.

"Yeah. And because it's boring." Lucie repeated, before rolling her eyes.

"This is nice." Clary gently said, watching the other female lean against her weapon instead of actually going after her ball. "Being here, and this little, harmless, game? It's nice." The redhead elaborated before heaving a soft sigh. "And the talking animals are cute." Lucie chuckled at the words, subdued but earnest. "Why don't you just try to relax and enjoy it? If what Aslan said is true, the battle will come to us soon enough, won't it?"

"True." The Traveler agreed. "But still, I just don't like not knowing. It's like we're waiting for something to happen without knowing what will. How can we relax when we're supposed to be on our guards?"

Clary shrugged. "All I know is that I'm willing to try." She replied, determination perceptible in her eyes. Lucie gave a silent nod before turning away from the redhead, to follow after her ball. "Here," Clary spoke, approaching the shorter female. "let me help." She reached out for Lucie, correcting the female's position. "And stop trying to hit like it has personally offended you." The Shadowhunter said, accompanying Lucie's hands in a gentle movement. The Traveler nodded at Clary, who took a couple of steps back after her demonstration. After a short exhale, Lucie hit her ball, bringing it much closer to the intended hoop than she'd managed prior. She grunted. "It's progress." Clary encouragingly declared, a small smile on her lips.

"Ladies," A dignified male voice interrupted, its owner giving a curt nod. "we have some impromptu guests claiming to be your friends." The two girls glanced at each other, brows furrowing. How would that even be possible? "Shall I assume they were lying and send them away?" He inquired.

Clary shook her head. "No, no, it might be some animals we've met along the way to here."

"They're actually children of Adam and Eve." The young man declared.

"Oh." Clary's brows grew further knitted together. "Did they give you names?"

"Yes." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I feel like I should have started by that. A certain Alec seems to be their spokesperson."
