When I got back to my old home town Northvill ,it smelt different Neil and I drove to our old house ,our dad moved back here because he didn't feel comfortable being one human among alot of vampire's ,Neil and i didn't blame him though,

as if on cue Neil asked "do you think he'll be okay with living in a house with vampires ?" He said while glancing at me from the driver seat,

" his our dad Neil , I'm sure he'll be glad we're back" I said leaning against my seat and looking out the window of my brothers Honda fit's,

"I hope your right Jen " he turned his attention back to the road

The drive seemed like hours but eventually we made it on to our old street, Neil turned into the drive way turning off the engine he looked at me,

"are you ready Jen ?" I sighed looking at him

" as ready as I'll ever be I guess" he give me a soft smile before hopping out of the car ,

I opened my door and climbed out too ,I took a deep breath as I walked up onto the porch feeling all my nerve's and excitement I've been bottling for 15 years all kick in ,

I didn't know what to do ,I bounced between the thought of hugging my dad or just running back to the car and staying at a motel

(I sound like a coward but his my dad who's always loved his two children and we chose to stay away so I admit even as the vampire elder i was a coward at the hole family lovey dovey crap sorry for my choice of words but I am and I'm so not gonna admit that to any one but myself)

I took a deep breath again trying to cool my nervous as I knocked on my dads door ,

"maybe his not home and we should go" as if on cue at the end of my sentence before my brother could respond the door opened,

"hi ,may I help you ?" A woman stood in the door way taking both Neil and I by surprise

"oh ,you must be Mike's kids, mike I think your kids are by the door " the woman screamed out the last bit to my dad who I'm guessing was inside the house ,

"are you guys hungry? Thirsty?" She asked while smiling at us , Neil and I exchanged looks and nodded at her ,

she invited us in even though its our old house we still need to be invited in first, 'stupid vampire rules ' I rolled my eyes as I thought to myself

"your dad is going to be so happy to see you two, he waited all night for you he just went upstairs, I'll be right back , I assume you know where everything is", she left before I could tell her that's its been 15 years of course we don't know where everything is ,

"is that dads girlfriend or what?" Neil asked me as we walk to where I'm assuming the living room is,

" I don't know, I couldn't read her" I ran a hand through my hair as I answered him ,

"let's just sit and wait for him" I added as I took a seat on the couch near the fire please ,

" do you think she'll find it weird that we drove for over five hours to get here near two in the morning ?" Neil asked me with a worried look on his face ,he's been on guard since I told him that we're going to a place no vampire lives only humans and a small pack of werewolves stay close by ,

" I hadn't thought of that but I'm sure we can blame it on traffics better at night " I said while running my hand through my hair ,

"  ahh Jennifer and Neil ,I've missed you guys so much !",my dad said taking both of us in a tight hug ,

" we missed you to pa ",Neil said while trying to breath ,

" yeah dad we missed you ,the same as we miss oxygen", I said with a cough ,

" come on I thought you where vampire's so strong ", he said making a face that looked like he was trying to pick up weight's ten times his on weight ,

" dad stop it your going to hurt yourself ", my dad ,Neil and I erupted in to  laughter,

"well that's good I hear laughing, I guess the kids took it well?" The woman said while coming down the stairs ,

We calmed ourselves down as Neil and I exchanged looks between both us and our dad ,

"no not yet Hunny ,I was waiting for you " my dad said as she came closer

"what's going on ?" Both Neil and I said in unison rising an eye brow at our dad ,

"well you guys it's been almost 15 years ,since your  mom left us ,I sorta just started to move on and three years ago I met Jessica ,she's really lovely and we just clicked ,we saved the wedding until you guys came back so you guys could be there to ",our dad said while holding hands with who I'm guessing is Jessica ,

" dad if your happy we're happy ", Neil said proudly with a smile on his face ,

"i on the other hand don't know what to say , mom didn't just up and leave us ,we all know she was kidnapped , please don't be mad or upset with me dad ,you know it's somewhat hard for me to adjust to new things but Jessica if you play your cards right and treat both my dad and us nice then I'm sure I'll come around if not then I'll snap you like a twig ,do you understand ?", I said while feeling my brother hold my arm a little to tight ,

"Jennifer that's not nice ,you've made Jessica scared ,I can sense her", Neil whispered to me,

" alright well minis the situation, I hope that doesn't happen because I think of you all as my own family and I'd like a chance to prove that to you Jennifer",Jessica spoke softy ,

okay so I feel bad, not ,I sighed ,

" and if you prove it I'll gladly except it", she smiled at me softly ,

"alright since everyone is okay with the wedding ,we'll be going to bed ,you know where your rooms are if your hungry or want a drink go ahead the kitchen is right across the hall to my office ", my dad spoke softy

,raising an eyebrow at dad she spoke ,"no it's not silly its through the arch near the staircase ", she said while laughing as she made her way upstairs

",I know but I work at a blood bank and down the hall in my office there's a small freezer behind the couch with blood in it " my dad whispered to us and winked ,

" oh and I modified your rooms there's a switch near your bed on your night stand press it and see your welcome home surprise ", he smiled at us and went up stairs
