In this new city called Jove, there were more Magians than Celestials but the humans were the smallest number. Giselle looked at the extravagant looking houses and buildings through the window of the cab her and her aunt were in. She had no idea why her aunt chose this city but she wasn't complaining. She just wanted to see their new apartment and be the first to decide on the furniture before her aunt started her "creativity" again. She dozed off after a while because of the long flight.

Elle felt someone tapping her and she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was her aunt looking extremely nervous. Before she could comment on that, her eyes moved to the imposing gates in front of them. "Aunt Mel, did we stop at the wrong place?" Elle looked at the gate again and decided they were at the wrong location. In all their moving sprees, they had never moved to a house with a gate like this. If the gate was this big, she couldn't imagine the size of the house.

"This is the house of an old friend, Elle. We're going to be staying with them this time - I explained this to you this already. When we get in, let me do the talking first but don't be worried, everything will be fine." She looked at the gate opening and finished her sentence with, "Once they scold me", she muttered.

"Also, there's a celestial here named Danté. Whatever you do, do not provoke him! He could literally crush you with one hand without even touching you!" Aunt Mel cautioned her niece. How could he crush me with one hand without touching me, Elle thought dryly. Aunt Mel had already told her Jove city would be full of powerful people. As long as the ones they would be living with could protect them, she was fine!

The cab drove smoothly on the tree lined, gravel driveway that seemed to go on and on. After a little while of driving, Elle gaped at the full view of the magnificent mansion? Palace? Elle didn't know what term to give what she was looking at. With wide eyes, she tried to take it all in and didn't succeed.

Before the car doors even opened, the gold front doors of the house swung open but Elle didn't see anyone there. It was like an invincible force pushed it. There were two giant phoenix statues flanking the doors.

"Look who decided to grace us with her presence", a saccharine voice floated out through the front doors. A stunning woman walked out and looked straight at Aunt Mel. "It has been a while, Blondie", Aunt Mel's meek voice trailed out. Blondie? The woman did have blond hair but calling her blondie didn't fit her at all. She looked above normal people. "Come in", she said.

Mel quickly paid the cab driver and dragged her niece inside the house. She told Elle to sit down and passed through the grand foyer in the direction of the woman. Of course, Elle loved a good gossip, she didn't sit and directly followed her aunt but hid in a corner to watch the two women. She was surprised at the mellow way her aunt was acting, liked a child that knew she had done wrong and was awaiting a scolding.

"Blondie, let me explain first. I swear I didn't mean to leave abruptly, my sister suddenly disappeared and I couldn't leave my niece alone..." Aunt Mel kept talking when the other woman interrupted, "Melissa Gwenlyth Gian! These are just excuses. I waited for you for a whole year! I looked everywhere for you and almost went to war with the fayes. You clearly didn't trust me enough to tell me what was happening; we could've gone through it together and you wouldn't have had to raise Giselle alone!"

Elle's brain was working hard trying to piece some missing pieces together to get the whole story. When she wanted her brain to work the most, it always broke down. She knocked her head, "stupid head!"

"There's not a doubt about your head being stupid, if this is how you eavesdrop", a voice said from directly behind Elle.
