In a time far beyond ours, in a solar system now called the Origin System, a planet called Earth was under siege by a race and faction known as the Grineer, mutated from excessive cloning and heavily armoured. They were armed with automatic firearms, and killed on sight. Somewhere on Earth, a girl, no more than 13 years of age, was sinking into the vast depths of a body of water, stunned and unable. Unmoving. She was in a position that she could be no more than sleeping in bed. A feminine voice reached out to her, trying to pull her out of this trance. For generations you've slept.......no purpose.....no call to wake you....
Her amber eyes widened as light penetrated her eyes through the water. She snapped back into consciousness. Her heart lurched. Her eyes burned with more than fury as she clawed at the endless water. Precious air escaped her as she turned what she though was upright and looked for where the surface might be. She looked up, and let more escape as she swam to the light.
She gasped as her face met the smoky air, and she leapt onto the stony surface in front of her. Taking a few seconds to breathe, she assessed the situation. Her matted, drenched hair stuck to her face as she looked into the distance at the orange horizon. Many dead Grineer bodies occupied the water of the flooded forest. She scanned the water, and found only dead Grineer. She gave a start at a noise made by an actual alive Grineer in the distance. There was not only one, but there was a whole search party. Guns raised and helmet lights scanning the water for...her.
Grineer. Seeds, from the ruins of the Old War. She hastily donned her hood, and darted into the overgrown mass behind her. She heard them a distance away wading through the water, searching still, but approaching fast. Swallowing colonies whole.
But there is still hope
The voice resonated in her head as she blindly ran past trees and into light filled open plains. There was a large tower, streaked with gold just ahead. She ran to it, and made her way up the steps, grasping her pouch filled with lotus flowers that dangled by her side. Light streamed in as she came to the centre of the building, eyes wide and excited as she laid her eyes onto three warrior figures, kneeling, with both hands on their lap. They appeared to be statues at first, but on closer inspection they were what she knew as Warframes, just absolutely enveloped in thick dust and grime gathered over a thousand centuries. Her shoes clicked on the stone floor as she made her way forward, taking a single lotus flower out of the pouch. The Tenno. Monuments of an ancient warrior cast, scattered across frail worlds. Forgotten. Like a dream. A lotus flower glowed as it was placed by the Warframes knees as a flashback to its past warped in.
A war dog licked its mouth as Excalibur held its head in his arms. The Warframe looked up at a Grineer dropship that had warped into the seemingly infinite expanse known as the Plains of Eidolon. It landed by a Grineer camp further away, and the Kubrow (war dog) stepped up and almost broke into a run, before looking back at its master first. They both noticed that the camp was heavily guarded, and below a cliff.
A Grineer watchman ran his hands over his orange gun as he examined the camp from a distance. The sounds of his comrade further back were only just heard. He spun his head and quickly raised the gun. He didn't get very far before a Kubrow's jaws met his throat. In that small amount of time, Excalibur was already jumping from the grounded dropship, killing supply crewmen who had just walked out. Even while trying his hardest to be silent, he had gathered the whole camps attention within three seconds. 'Well, stealth can eat my ass' he muttered before sliding, grabbing the throwing knife that he had just lodged between the eyes of a gunman, and threw it at another. It was a sure-shot, and it met its new target. While that was cool enough, he was outnumbered, fifty to one. There was nothing for it but to run, gun, and hope for the best. He had three of them down before his Kubrow made a noise behind him. Two Grineer wheeled around, and shot in the direction. A real shame that there were gas containers right there. Excalibur was already running up the cliff as bullets whistled past his helmet. He launched himself mid run off the cliff, simultaneously somersaulting and pulling out his exalted blade. In the next five seconds, he slammed the godly sword into the ground with all his available strength, leaving the entire camp in pieces due to the shock-wave. He stood up, taking the same throwing knife from earlier that the Kubrow had spat onto his hand. He looked up, and the flashback finished. The head startlingly held in the same way on the unused Excalibur.
