In The Base...

In a dark room of the dormitories laid a shivering, sleeping girl. In the girl's hand is a silver medal. She held it close to her heart as if scared that the medal would vanish.

Light came when the door opened as a short girl in a red uniform and a red hat appeared and entered the dark room. The girl in red sighed as she approached the sleeping figure. She knelt next to the bed and laid a hand on the sleeping girl's shoulder and shook it..

"Springfield. Wake up." She called and the girl called Springfield grunted before turning away and curling up. "Spring... come on. You need to eat."

Springfield opened her eyes and whispered. "You go on Sten. I think I'll pass." Springfield reached for her blanket but Sten grabbed her hand and pulled her up.

Sten sighed again. "You need to eat a little... and you haven't recharge your core since we got back to base." She met Springfield's eyes and saw the emptiness inside.

"That's good. Let me shut down slowly. I'm sure she felt the same thing if she even managed to escape." Springfield answered and Sten watched her smile. "After I shut down, you'll meet a new me and this me will join her." She told Sten.

Sten tightened her grip on Springfield's hands. "Don't talk like that... I'm sure Enfield is still alive. She's probably trying to find us right now." Sten saw a glint of hope shimmering in Springfield's eyes. "Hey. She might even be looking for you back at HQ!" Sten added trying to raise her friend's morale more.

Springfield started to tear up and smile. "Yeah. Yeah! She's probably back at HQ. Looks like we need to ask Commander Yuna if she can give us a few days to go back to HQ." Springfield says to Sten which made both of them smile beaming with hope. "Thank you Sten."

Springfield and Sten stood up. But just as Springfield was about to put the medal on her bed. The alarms blared and the lights in the hallway turned red.

"SPRINGY! SPRINGFIEEEEELD!" The Tdolls looked at each other. "SPRIIIIIING!! WOAH!" Someone zoomed past the door in an orange blur and a crash echoed amidst the loud alarm.

Another girl stumbled to Springfield's doorway. Her face stained with brown dirt and her hair was a mess. "Springfield! It's! It's!" Springfield raised her hand and laid it on the panicking girl's shoulders. "Right. Right... Huuzzah..." The girl took a deep breath and exhaled. "WE DETECTED LEE-ENFIELD! SHE'S GETTING CHASED BY SANGVIS!" She suddenly screamed in Springfield's face.

Springfield's eyes widen in surprise before she threw girl away. "Owie!" Springfield ran back inside, grabbed her rifle and ran out the door.

Sten who was left stunned from the news snapped herself out of it and went over to the girl on the ground. "Kalina. You better not be lying. Is it really Enfield?" Kalina nodded her head as hard as she can. "Well? What the hell are we doing here?! Let's go help her!" Sten dragged Kalina by the arms off to the Armory.

Meanwhile, Springfield ran through the corridors brushing pass hurrying Tdolls and human staff alike as they went about their way to reach their duties in this alert phase.

She barged through the doors and kept running into the courtyard towards a watchtower. As soon as she reached the tower, she jumped the railing of the stairs and grabbed onto the railing of the second floor balcony.

Another Tactical doll was there, pointing her gun towards Springfield. "Bren, it's me Springfield." Bren sighed and lowered her rifle. "Where is she?" She ask the LMG type Tdoll.

Bren turned away and mounted her rifle onto the low wall. "500. That way." She coldly states and points in front of her.

Springfield pulled her rifle up and looked through her scope. She scanned the darkened land for her lost friend with the help of search lights from the other towers.
