The Only Ones

Alex's Intoduction

First of, I'll introduce myself. I'm Alexandra Nolan , a teen of 19. I am a little bit plump( no shame in admitting that), have long silky black hair, marble like eyes and fair white skin. All of my friends call me Alex for short.

When I was 17, a disaster happened that completely changed the world. On May 2nd, 2018, an oxygen bomb was blasted on Russia due to some manufacturing defect. For two  days, there were reports of people behaving weirdly in many parts of the world. And, on the 3rd day after the disaster, people of earth started transforming into animals. Not only animals-Insects, birds, mammals, fish etc etc...... But due to some luck, I didn't transform. This all happened after I broke up with my boyfriend, Drake, because he wanted to make kids with me right then and there. I had to kick in the balls and run towards my home in order to escape from a rape.

When I reached home, I found out a lion and a grizzly bear fighting each other in the kitchen. It was confusing because I haven't heard of lions roaming around in California. But since they were wearing cloths, It took me only a second to identify who they were- My mom and dad. I quickly rushed into my room without them knowing. I knew my house was the least safe location I would want to be now. Without even thinking, I packed some bare essentials in my bag and retrieved my trusty Pencil knife(which I made by sticking a sharpener blade in a pencil). Armed with it I sneaked past the raging animals and got my puppy, Happy, out of the doghouse. I knew she wouldn't stand a chance against Mom and Dad.

Happy and I ran to my friend's house in the neighborhood and barged in, only to find, she had been turned into a cow. This time I broke into tears. Not only my parents, but everyone on this planet had turned into animals. I sat down on the grass with eyes full of tears. As I brooded, I heard noises. Noises of someone speaking. The nest thing I knew, I found a Black Widow(a species of spider) walking over my side mumbling something. I quickly found out that I had got an ability to talk to spiders. The spider somehow knew it too and soon we became friends. I christened him Kai when he told me that he didn't have a name. Kai got along with Happy very well.

I knew I had to somehow survive on my own on this planet. So we three-Happy, Kai and me-raided a gun store in the neighborhood(who's owner had turned into a donkey) and the city hospital(where everyone had turned into Flamingos). Then we took a hummer from my chick neighbor's garage(she had turned into a chicken) and drove out of town. After a 4 hour driving(and crashing into many street lights), we reached Los Angeles. We broke into a house that had an Dragonfly(possibly it's owner) zooming around. I caught it for Kai(who ate it with relish) and searched around the house. It was in suitable living condition with Solar power. We started to live in it. It wasn't much fun after a year. All the things in the local supermarket had been raided by me. So I started using guns to hunt. Mostly deer(who were in large numbers in our area) and chickens were the ones we killed. Then for variety, we'd often hunt pigeons. We survived for 2 years on that house. And in 2 years I learned many things. I learned that all the I had lost the ability to ejaculate my waste and how the animals were ageing by human years .The end of the 2nd year was the day I discovered- that I was not alone, and we were the only ones left.
