After school I asked maya to meet me at the cafe and she did so I got a rose and asked
"Maya hart with you do me the honor and me my girl friend"
She gasped
"Sure Brandon sure" she said with a smile and We ordered our food. After I paid for our dinner I walked her home but she told me to stop at a certain point when we where going to a bad neighborhood so I did and let her walk on... Just kidding I followed her to make sure she stayed safe it was such a Lucas move but what ever. Once I saw her reach her building I left and promised my self to tell no one where she lived so she would not get embarrassed

2 months later

MAYA POV
Me and Lucas and Rielly where walking down the streets in the freezing whether when it started to snow. Rielly was wearing a giant fluffy coat and me a t shirt and jeans. We came to Rielly house and dropped her off, once we walked into her house to drop her off it smelt like pumpkins and apple cider with nice yellow glow ... It was wonderful. As we left i realized I have to go back into my dark dim apartment. It was about 6:00pm and It was dark but we where almost at "my so called stop"and I could finally get out of the cold... I was honestly shivering and I guess Lucas notices because he said
"Want my jacket city girl" I Suddenly remembered that I had a sweatshirt in my backpack but I said
"Uh sure"
Was that a mistake, but suddenly his warm jacket wrapped around me with the sent of almost everything wonderful. Then we saw something really bright around the corner and when we turned I saw my apartment building on fire I started to run I needed to get that bear from my room. I ran up the fire escape stairs and found my room... The window wouldn't move so I punch through the glass leaving cuts on my fist with one giant piece bulging out but I ignored it. I walked in the fiery room and grabbed the bear and peeked through my door and saw my mom and the stranger there dead
"MAYA COME OUT THE PLACE IS GOING TO COLLAPSE" Lucas screamed at the top of his lungs but I tried to save them but a piece of lumber fell blocking my path. Someone grabbed my arms pulling me out
"NO MY MOM!!" . Once my feet hit the ground I blacked out.

LUCAS POV
I saw my parents come here because all the commotion
"Lucas honey one of our dear childhood friends died in this fire and we offered to talk care of there child till they get a adopter" my mom said, I felt bad for that child about their parents but I'm glad they will find a home soon. Suddenly I realized Maya's gone and assume she went in the building so I scream
"MAYA COME OUT THE PLACE GOING TO COLLAPSE!!"
she didn't come so I ran up the stairs and saw the hole in the window she must have crawled though ,it was to small so I punched out the window and climbed I and grabbed her and pulled her out and she blacked out so I picked her up and ran down the stairs and Handed her to a ambulance so she could get help, but she was holding a old bear so I put it in her bag and they drove her away. Brandon showed up and asked me
"What happened to Maya's apartment building?"
"What this isn't her house" I questioned, then I realized why would she go in there and where have I been dropping her off every day? Was she embarrassed? Because it does not mater what your house looks like.
"Yea this her house bro now I called the others so let's go because she is in the hospital"

MAYAS POV
(At the hospital)
I woke up in a hospital bed with all my friends around me and smiled
"Hey babe " brandon said
"Hey" I said back but drifted my gaze to Lucas
"Thanks again for the official 3rd time of saving me, why do you always do that?" I said
"Don't thank me city girl, and because I do" he smiled
"What ever you say Cowboy" I giggled. Rielly and farkel where talking and me and Brandon where talking and Lucas's parents suddenly walked in
"Hi are you Katie harts daughter?" They asked ,oh no I remember she's dead no I couldn't have helped her though she was already burned
"Yes... Why?" I say
"Well" they start ....
