Your eyes locked for just a second through the reirview mirror. You sat in the back with your new tiny baby girl, her cheeks were rosey and her breathing light.
You couldn't help but feel a sence of nervousness and excitement rush through you as her little hand grasped onto your index finger.
Her big wide eyes were open, wondering around her surrounding making your heart melt as you caressed her little cheek with your free hand.
Cars beeped around you causing you to look at Kio in confusion as he silently cursed to the drivers passing by. “Babe?”
“They can just pass me!” He groaned causing you to realize how slow he was driving on the highway.
“If you drive faster she won’t break” you giggle causing him to switch lanes, getting off of the exit to where your home was.
“I can’t do that” he whined. “She’s so small what if she gets car sick? Or what if-“
“Daddy’s already going crazy trying to keep you safe” you interrupted, gushing at your daughter who yawned in the process making you awe at her.
Kio smiled into the mirror once again, locking eyes with you. His skin was glowing, fatherhood looked amazing in him and you could already tell he was going to be an amazing dad.
If it was possible you fell even more in love with him in this moment, love engulfed you as the past few days were the most life changing.
When Kio finally pulled into the garage of your newly renovated home, he carefully helped you out of the car.
Your body was still sore from giving birth, Kio took the carriage and led you into the house.
An overwhelming feeling it was, bringing your little creation into the house, tears forming in your eyes as you. It’s walked into her bedroom.
“I think she’s tired?” He said looking over at you.
“Oh yeah” you nodded as you unhinged her and picked her up. “Beautiful Meadow, this is your room!” You gushed.
Kio's armed snacked around you as you rocked her back and forth.
Her dark hair peaking out from her bonnet causing you you smile, her dark features she received from Kio made your heart dance.
“Mommy spent days making it perfect” Kio hushed, watching you lay Meadow down into her bed.
Her eyes fluttered closed as Kio leaned over the crib and caressed her soft, plump cheeks.
Her hand instinctively wrapped around his pointer finger causing him to hum.
His free had combing through her thin dark hair, helping her relax more until ultimately falling into a comfortable slumber.
“Daddy’s going to protect you. You’re my world.” He whispered. Leaning against the doorframe you smiled at him as he spoke to your daughter.
He gushed over her, whispering words of affection to her as she slept, making promises you knew her keep forever.
“I love you” you hummed, placing your hands onto his back before he slipped his finger out of Meadows hold.
“I love you, too” he smiled, turning around as he wrapped his arms around your waist. “You did so good, you’re the strongest women I know".
"Thank you for carrying and bringing out baby into the world.” He said, love and adoration clear in his voice.
“I could not have done it without you” you whispered.
Kio's smile was infectious, he guided you out of Meadows room to let her sleep peacefully as well as letting mom and dad have some alone time.
Pulling you down into the living room couch, falling into his lap you let out a fit of giggles as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
His blue eyes sparkled while you threw your head back, his arms wrapped around you protectively as you dipped your head down to place a gentle kiss onto his lips.
Humming in satisfaction, Kio cling onto you right her causing you to hum happily. “This feels so right” you say after breaking away from the kiss. “Our little family.” You gush.
“I couldn’t be happier, I honestly have everything I’ve ever wished for.” Kio admired making you run your fingers through his dark silky hair.
“I have you by my side, and Meadow. What more could I possibly need? Or want?” He added.
“How’d I get so lucky?” You asked putting his chin in the calm of your hand.
You placed your lips into his, lingering there longer this time as both of your mouths moved together in sync.
Kio let out a low moan causing you to smile against his lips. Write pulling away.
“You drive me crazy” he smiled.
“I know” you winked.
“Do you think she’s going to sleep for a while?” He asked.
You turned your face to look at the clock and nodded, “the nurse said she’s probably going to sleep for the rest of the day. Apparently the ride home and the new scenery makes newborns exhausted.”
Kio nodded glancing over at Meadow’s room, her door wide open so the two of you could hear any noises. “I can’t wait to play with her” he chuckled.
“You’re such an amazing dad” you hum placing your hand onto his cheek.
“It hasn’t even been a day since she’s been home!” He chuckled.
“So” you protest.
“I heard what you told her. She’s going to love you so so much, she’s going to look up to you, and be so thankful that your her protector.”
You said resting your fine and against his. “I already love the way you are with her. You make me so proud. I’m so blesssd to have you.”
Kio was a loss for words, his eyes sparkled before he pressed kisses against your jawline causing you to smile wide. “My wife, I adore you.” Was all that left his lips repeatedly causing you to giggle.
Kio laid you down to to the couch, cuddling you close to his body as you laid against his chest, both of you finally letting the exhaustion of the few days hit you.
Your body still recovering from giving birth, you hummed into his chest as your eyes fluttered closed in relaxation mode.
His fingers ran through your hair causing you to smile, his eyes closed as you both stayed their quietly listening for any sounds that Meadow would make.
“I’m so happy” you whispered. “I love you.”
“I love you too. I’m so happy” Kio let out after a while of silence.
