"What happened to this patient? " His baritone voice makes me shiver yet calm at the same time. I still not can't get over knowing that he's around. Well I'll use to it since he's my senior after all.
"The patient got an car accident. And his vital signs are not stable." I answered him and he just nodded as response. He checked the patient and he asked the defibrillator.
"Ready the OR in 10 minutes." We're all nodded and started preparing. Paalis na sana ako sa hybrid room ng biglang magsalita si Dr. Park.
"I want you to assist me Dr. Mendes. So be ready in few minutes." He walked out as he said that and I'm still in awe. OMG this is my first time to assist him. I started to walk through the locker room to change.
After I changed I went out the locker room to wash my hands and I saw Dr. Park is also washing his hands. I just bowed at him since he is my senior.
"Don't be nervous. I got you okay." Before I could response at him he entered already. I sighed while entering the OR.
After 5 hours of performing an surgery. We're finally done. This is my first time to assist Dr. Travis Park. He is really professional, Sa sobrang kaba ko ay muntik na akong magkamali. Mabuti na lang at nakasuporta si nurse Kiel at siyempre si Dr. Travis.
"Hey you're spacing out." It was the serious doctor that I've ever known yet cool and hot at the same time. Ckaress, stop complimenting him.
"Sorry. I'm just tired." Sabay kuha ng hot chocolate na inaabot niya sa akin. I muttered thanks to him and he just smiled while patting my head. I groaned and he just chuckled.
"Kainis ka" I retorted. And he just pinched ny cheeks.
"You did a great job today Dr. Mendes. I know you're hella tired so you can go home after this." I shook my head at him.
"No. I still have to check the patients in hybrid room." I stood up and before he utter a word, Dr. Kendra Rodriguez one of the cardio surgeon is coming towards us. She approached Travis and she looked at me and I just bowed sign of respect. Still she is my senior though.
" I was about to go to your office and I found you here." - She said sweetly or seductively arrgh- whatever. It looks like they need to talk in private so I excused myself.
"I have to go Dr. Park, thanks for this." I'm referring to the hot chocolate that he gave to me. As I said then I walked out immediately.
After that, I busied myself checking some patients and also Dr. Ortega is here so I volunteered to assign him.
Hindi ko na namalayan ang oras. Sobrang nawili ako sa pag aasikaso ng mga pasyente. It was tiring yet fulfilling. I smiled on that thought.
"Ckaress, baka gusto mong kumain? Masiyado kang nawili ah." Ani ni Jen isa sa mga kasama kong intern. Natawa ako sa tinuran niya kaya sinakyan ko na lang.
"Oo nga eh nawili ako kaya hindi ko na namalayan ang oras mag aalas siyete na pala. Tsaka ginutom ako dun." Siya naman ang natawa sa akin. Naglalakad na kami papuntang room namin kung saan kami nagpapahinga at kung saan madalas kumain kapag. hindi na kayang lumabas. Pagpasok namin ay nakita namin si Marco na busy mag browse ng phone niya.
" Let's go. Kanina ko pa kayo hinihintay tsaka baka maubusan na tayo ng tapsilog ang dami pa namang kumakain dun." Natawa kami sa itsura ni Marco pa'no ba naman kasi parang malulugi sa lukot ng mukha niya. Kaya naman umalis na kami at nagtungo na sa Tapsihan.
Pagdating namin sa Tapsihan ay madaming tao. Expected na yun dahil madaming estudyante ang nakain dito malapit lang kasi ang University dito kaya hindi nawawalan ng customer. At mabuti na lang matalas ang mata ko at nakakita ako ng pwesto sa may dulo. Kaya agad kaming nagtungo dun.
"Uy Marco akin na yung pambili ako na ang oorder nakakahiya naman sayo kung ikaw pa ang pupunta sa counter. Hintayin niyo ako ni Ckaress dito." Saglit na dumukot si Marco ng pera sa wallet at iniabot kay Jen. Agad namang tumalima si Jen at nagtungo na sa counter upang mag order. Hindi pa nakakalayo si Jen ng sumigaw si Marco.
" Uy Jen, softdrinks na malaki wag mo kalimutan. " Tumango lamang si Jen at nagpatuloy na sa counter. Mga ilang saglit lamang ay dumating na ang order namin. Masaya kaming nagkekwentuhan sa sobrang gutom namin ay umorder ulit kami. Grabe naman kasi mga alaga namin sa tiyan.
Matapos naming kumain ay dumeretso na kami sa katabing park.
"Parang gusto kong bumili ng milkshake. Kayo ba gusto niyo din? " -Tanong ni Jen habang naglalakad kami sa may stall ng milkshake. Agad akong napangiti dahil heto ang madalas na bilhin namin ng mga kaibigan ko. Hay kamusta na kaya ang mga yun.
"Hey, Ckaress are you okay? Mukhang kanina ka pa nakatulala eh. At ilang beses na ko na napapansin na panay ang buntong hininga mo. " Puna ni Marco. Liningon ko siya at.
"Nah, I'm just tired guys. After this we will go home since we're all tried. " I gave them a faint smile. Hindi na rin sila nagtanong at agad na bumili ng milkshake. Iniabot sa akin ni Jen ang cookies and cream milkshake. I muttered my thanks and she just smiled at me. I'm staring at my milkshake because it reminds me of him. I shook my head to erase the thought. For now I want to go home and reunite with my bed. As I stood up I was stiff when my phone is vibrating and when I fished out my phone I saw his tons of missed calls. But I decided to turned off my phone.
As we finished our drinks, we decided bid a goodbye to each other and go home. As I arrived at home. I had a lil chitchat with my family. And then I went to my room to freshen up.
After doing my evening rituals someone knocking the door.
"Come in." I yelled without looking at the door. And then I saw my sister entering tny room.
"Ate, I bought you glass of milk. I know you're tired." As she handed me the glass of milk. I muttered my thanks to her. And she hugged me tightly.
"You're welcome ate. Alis na ako. Para makapagpahinga ka na. Goodnight ate I love you." Ang sweet talaga ng kapatid ko. Kaya matapos ko siyang yakapin pabalik ay umalis na siya.
Agad naman akong sumampa sa higaan nang bigla kong maalala ang phone ko na naka off. I hurriedly get my phone from my bag and turned it on. As I opened, I have a lot of messages and such missed calls that came from the person that I have been avoiding since morning. I just ignored it all and I put my phone on the study table and I put it on alarm instead. It's kinda tiring so I need to sleep. I sigh and close my eyes. At unti unti na akong nilalamon ng antok.
