'Days and days go by, I keep thinking to myself when is this going to end, when will life end ! '
It started when I moved to a new town called Beverhills. My dad had got a new job as a builder, where he would get paid more money and can finally send me to a private school that he has been wishing to do for years. I wasn't so keen on the idea of a private school, I was happy where I was, an ordinary public school. I guess I was doing this for my dads sake, to make him happy and proud of his daughter.
That Saturday we were packing all our stuff and saying goodbye to friends and family. I would miss my house, my school, the shop i would go to every day and my friends ! It just wouldn't be the same without it all.
I looked out the car window as we drove endlessly down the road. I kept thinking. What if people hated me at school? What if I have no friends? What if I don't fit in? Hundreds of questions were flowing in my head and none of them could be answered. I stopped thinking negatively and started to think to a more positive future and starting a new life.
"Rose" my mum called out. I quickly stopped day dreaming about school.
"Yes mum." I said trying to act happy.
"Shall we stop for a break, we have a long journey ahead and we are not even half way!" She said exhausted.
"Hmmm.. Yeah sure Im starving!"
"Hungry, hungry!" Called out my little brother tommy.
We stopped at the nearest service station and went straight to buy fast food. By now my tummy had started to rumble viciously, and my mouth watered at the sight of the juicy burgers. I couldn't wait to take a bite out of it, although I sound as if I eat a lot I am actually small and thin for a sixteen year old.
We all sat down at a table and ate the burgers hungrily. Nobody spoke all the way through, we were all concentrating on eating. The silence didn't stay for long, my mum started a subject about the most thing I hated to talk about. The new private school. I sat quietly at the edge of my seat, if I had moved any further I would of fallen off my chair.
Mum went on and on about how much she loved the uniforms they had and how sensible and posh it was, all that was going through my mind was all the negative things I had been thinking about on the journey. Thinking positive didn't help. My mum turned to me and saw that my face had gone pale.
"Hunny? Is everything ok?" She said worried.
"Yeah mum I'm fine, it's just I think I ate the burgers too fast" I tried to sound convincing. I looked at my mother and saw she wasn't convinced but she left the subject and started to talk about organising the new house. I was glad that the conversation was closed.
We finished our burgers and went back to the car for a long journey ahead of us. All the way to beverhills I stared out of the car window, watching raindrops slide down. I tried to make it into a game seeing which one slides down the fastest. After a while I got bored of watching the raindrops slide, I asked mum when we would arrive, she said another four hours!
Two hours past by and I started to get car sick. My tummy felt empty and I couldn't sleep any more. The sky had turned a misty blue and it was getting dark outside. A star shone from behind the misty sky and the streets were silent.
