Demi lays Samuel down in the bassinet which was now against the wall, she didn't want him to grow up her sleeping by her side all the time, it would be harder for him to adjust to sleeping by himself in his own room and bed when he was a toddler. It had been a couple of weeks since Zac's death and Demi was finding it hard to live without him, she never thought how hard it would be to look after such a young baby as well as herself but she was slowly getting there. She was trying her best to stay happy but at times it just got too much for her and she'd brake down crying but that was often when she was alone. Demi won't deny how much Samuel resembles Zac know, it was amazing how much he had grown and she hopes he will look like his father. When he grows up, even if he was half as brilliant as Zac Demi would be proud. Joe has felt good to get something off his chest towards someone he didn't know very well but at the same time she hadn't heard half of the story, there was a lot more to it. Tomorrow was Amelia's birthday the care home getting ready to throw a huge party, first birthdays are a huge thing.
"Sleep well baby boy, big day tomorrow!" Demi exclaims smiling when she gets now response, she was quite lonely at times.
"I can't believe my baby is one!" Joe exclaims picking up Amelia, the birthday girl, up throwing her up in the air keeping her hands on her tiny waste. The little girl bursts out into fits of giggles reaching out her hands to reach his face but he was too way away.
"The cake is amazing Joe, you have a real talent you know." Alex complements as he makes his way into the kitchen looking down at the cake.
"Thanks," Joe says a small smile on his face as he brings Amelia back down holding her against his hip. "I just wish Jess was here to see her daughter turn one." He admits.
"Hey she chose to run out on the two of you, nobody made her so it's her loss not yours. You're a brilliant father Joe, don't let her ruin the special day." Alex reassures Joe smiling.
"You always know what to say don't you." Joe states Alex laughing.
"You said that when you were seven too." He replies patting his back, Joe smiles making his way into the living room where everyone was gathered. Joe sits down on the floor beginning to help Amelia open the presents, she was still too young but Joe encouraged her as much as he could but she was too interested in bit of paper she just pulled off everyone laughing.
"Aaron you want to open one for her?" Joe questions Aaron squealing taking one off Joe, with team work they get them all open Joe setting up Amelia on one of her new toys.
"She's adorable you know." Demi complements as she sits down next to him on the couch Joe having started to watch her play with a stuffed hedgehog he had got her.
"She looks a lot like her mother, I was hoping she'd turn up today but I guess I'm wrong." Joe says through a sigh.
"Don't let her ruin your daughter's birthday, it's not every day you turn the big one." Demi encourages Joe chuckling.
"She didn't even want to be a mom from day one, I had to convince her to keep the baby and not have an abortion. I should have known she'd run away once she was born but we don't need her do we Amelia?" Joe questions looking at Amelia who looks up at her but doesn't respond , they both laugh the smile staying on Joe's face, he was the proudest father at the moment.
"As Alex said her loss not yours, any woman would be lucky to be her parent." Demi states Joe kissing her cheek.
"Thank you." Joe replies.
"You're welcome." Demi answers Joe getting up when the doorbell echoed through the house, he makes his way over to the door opening the door revealing someone he recognised very much
"Kevin?" Joe responded shocked to see him.
