Chapter 2

*Next Day*

"Sam Grey, Please step forward." LA said. I stepped into the front row. Today was the day that the judges would tell us who made it to the next round and who would be going home. "Front row congratulations, back row this is the end.." LA finished up. I jumped up and down and hugged my roommate Skylar who had also made it. I looked down the line and saw that Niall had made it too. He was going crazy with some other guy. I smiled to myself. "Don't get to excited. Time to get back to work." Simon said motioning us all off the stage. Some Stage people lead us to a room where they were gonna match us up with someone else to duel with.

"Harry Styles." The stage man said. They were assigning us with someone to duel with. This boy was adorable and had really curly hair. "And Jessie Kane." they walked off into a seperate room. "Niall Horan." He called off. Niall walked up to him looking out in the crowd of contestants. "And Sam Grey." I smiled and walked towards the front of the room. We walked into a different room and started looking for a song.

" How about Tiny Dancer. Elton John?" Niall suggested. "Umm.. That's a good song, but I don't know it very well." I said trailing off. "How about Here Comes the Sun. The Beatles?" I said. He looked up from the paper and had a big smile in his face. "Sam, I think we just found our song!" We both jumped up and gave each other a hug."

~ "Wouldn't I like my partner? He's sweet, funny, and has an Amazing voice. Plus, he's got the looks." I said laughing at myself while the camera man asked me another question. "I Think the judges will like the performance because me and Niall are good friends now. Which means we have Chemistry.. That's an advantage right?" The camera man asked me to describe Simon in 3 words. "Hmmm.. Describing Simon. Okay here we go," I said rubbing my hands together. "He. Hates. Me!" I finished off. The camera man started to laugh as well as I. "What?? I told you the honest truth!!" I said falling down because I was laughing so hard.

~ "Sam is beautiful, nice, funny, beautiful, an amazing singer, cool, beautiful, down to earth, but also hyper at times.. Oh, and beautiful." Niall said blushing to the camera.

"So does Niall Horan and Sam Grey have something more than just a friendship going on? MAYBE! We'll find out more after their performance. So here they are Niall and Sam!!" The announcer guy yelled into the microphone. Niall and I walked on stage and stood in the center. I felt like my stomach was gonna explode and butterflies would come flying out. "Hello." Britney said. "Hi." We said together. "You can start when your ready." She said, and we nodded. Niall grabbed my hand and squeezed it. The music started to play..

"Here comes the sun, 'doo doo doo doo,' Here comes the sun an I say it's alright.." Niall and I sang in sync. It was time for my solo. "Little Darling..." I started off. I sang through my solo good, and then it was time for Niall's. He sang his amazing as always. We finished off the song and stood center stage hand in hand. "Well, that's was interesting.." Simon started off. "One of my favorites and one of my least favorites. I'm not going tell you who's who because I think you already know that. Anyway, I think you chose a great song.. Who chose it?" He asked. I raised my hand while Niall said "Sam did." Simon face dropped then said, "I don't like it anymore.. GoodBye." I said waving us off the stage. Britney slapped him in back of the head and I chuckled to myself. Niall and I literally ran off the stage.

"I'm sorry he didn't like it because of me. You did amazing.." I said with tears forming in my eyes. "Shh. That wasn't your fault Sam. You did amazing.. And if Simon can't see that, he's the stupidest man alive." He said embracing me in his arms. "Thanks Niall. Your amazing." I said laughing. We walked back to the hotel hand in hand, nervous for what tomorrow might bring..
