Houseboating With 1D

Chapter 4

   Before we could even start to get away though, Liam spoke up, "No, no. It's perfectly fine, love. We don't mind at all." The rest of the boys nodded in agreement and Harry asked, "Are you fans?"  I nodded yes, not quite knowing what to say. Zayn spoke up before a silence could come over us and said, "Well, we were just going to get in. Do you mind?" he was already taking off his shirt to get in and I made sure to not look, not wanting them to see my expression when I did to save myself from embarassment. Brooke immediately answered him, clearly out of her original shock now. "Oh no of course not. Feel free," she smiled at him and he jumped in doing a cannonball which splashed his friends who were now taking off their shirts also. I took my eyes away from them and Brooke and I shared a look. 

   I can't believe that we're here with four fifths of One Direction! This was unbelievably amazing, or as a Directioner would say, amazayn. "Where's Niall?" I asked them to keep the conversation, and also because he hasn't shown up this whole time. Louis responded this time, in a laughing tone, "Oh you know, being Nialler. He's probably eating out the kitchen." Suddenly, I remember a very commonly known thing about Louis. His stereotypical outfit. The blue and white stripes and red pants. I smirked. "Hey Lou, finally got your boat?" Everyone started laughing and he looked at me with happiness and amusement in his eyes, "Yes! I did, finally! Isn't it wonderful? It could use some more color though. Hmm, maybe some dark blue and then accented by some red here and there.." He trailed off and we all laughed at how his imagination had gone off. "And maybe some carrots on the back!" He exclaimed. 

   Suddenly, I felt something grab my leg, or rather someone. And they yanked me down. I took a quick breathe before being submerged in the cool water. I could feel the hand tugging me a bit deeper, but they let go and I waved my hand down to feel the hair on their head. Hmm, their hair is thick and although it's wet, I can still feel the curls in it. It's Harry! Brooke's hair is longer and the other boys' hair isn't this curly. I could tell that he was swimming back up, but I decided to get back at him. I stayed under and even tried to swim to the bottom since we were still pretty close to the shore. I went down, down, down, further and further until finally, I felt the smooth, thick, mossy mud of the bottom.

***Brooke's POV***

While we were all laughing, I saw Harry slip underwater and watched as his form went towards Jess'. I laughed at how I could tell exactly what he was going to do and how Jess and I always do that to each other anyways. He pulled her under and I saw her take a deep breathe before going under. Alright, well she would be fine. We can both hold our breathe for a good amount of time so I had no need to worry. I turned back to Zayn, Liam, and Louis. Louis still looked like he was daydreaming and Zayn was messing with Liam. I can't believe that they're actually here. And that Jess and I get to hang out with them. After a few seconds, Harry came back up and the boys turned their attention to him, seeing that Jess was still missing. Oh, I know what she's doing. Silly girl, she shouldn't scare the boys.

   The boys started talking about where she was and started coming up with silly ideas like 'a giant squid could've pulled her into the middle of the lake so that she could live in an underwater bubble with the baby squid eggs and watch over them until they hatch, and then the squid would get rid of her and she'd be gone forever'. Ya, they were becoming very worried and imaginative. I know she is fine though. She'll be coming up any second now. In the meantime, I started doing somersaults underwater and entertaining myself since the boys were too busy coming up with weird scenarios.

***Jess' POV***

   I decided that it would be long enough for my plan to have worked already by the time I got to the surface again. Kicking my way back up, I broke through the surface and took in the people around me. Niall was still missing and Brooke was doing random flips underwater.The other boys were sharing a conversation and hadn't noticed me. Maybe it didn't work and they hadn't noticed my absence at all? Oh well. Trying to listen in on them from where I am isn't going well, so I started treading over to them. I tried to join in the conversation. "Hey guys, what are you talking about?" Louis turned to me and launched himself at me, hugging me tightly. "Where'd you go? We thought you were gone forever! Did you find the squid? Is there an underwater bubble world that houses baby squids? Did the big squid give you a present? Did it give you a carrot? I want a carrot! I love carrots. Carrots are just the best, don't you think?" He asked dramatically, finally giving me time to respond. "Yeah, carrots are good. No, I didn't get any presents, and there are no squid, Lou. Although it would be awesome to have an underwater bubble world accessible by humans, I didn't find one." I am getting hungry now so thinking about carrots isn't helping. Louis is still clinging on to me and somehow keeping us afloat at the same time. I pulled his arms off of me and looked up to see that Brooke had come over. Swimming over to her, I left the boys to their own conversation. "I don't know about you, but I'm getting hungry and we should probably let them have the time that they came here for. Do you want to go back to get some lunch?" I asked her, eager for food. She glanced at the boys and looked back to me, "Well I guess so." "You guess so what?" Zayn asked. I turned to him and told him we were going to go get lunch. He frowned a bit and glanced at Brooke. "You can eat here. As long as Niall didn't eat all the food. He's been in there for awhile."
