The White Snake

Its so dark.
                 
                 I'm so hungry
     
       The only noise is my chains clinking against each other.
       
                        The hunger is killing me

~CREEEAK!~
A wooden door slides letting in blinding white light.
          oh wow...
              I didn't even realise there was a door there.
Someone steps in to the room and I cringe away.
"Y/n l/n, the half breed, it's time for your execution"
I feel my blood drain from my face as a male voice says this.
'No...'
I feel my pupils dilate and crush myself against the wall behind me. He steps closer to me and I whimper
'I don't wanna die...'
Closer
"No."
Closer.
He raises something large above his head and brings it down with force.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!"
~Thwack!~

"Ngh–" I groan as I wake up
"Nanami-chan!❤️ She's awake."
Someone yells from beside me.
"I'll be right there!"
I open my eyes and see a teenager with silver hair and bright green eyes staring back at me.
"Hello there I'm mizu–!"
I bolt up and out the door as I scream "NO! Get away from me!!!!"
The wooden floor squeeks underneath my bare feet as I run through the building
"HEY! Get back here. We're sopposed to wait for Nanami-chan!"
The door bangs loudly as I run through it. Literally.
'I have to run...'
The trees whip past me agonizingly slow as I run past them
'I need to run faster...'
I reach out in front of me grasping for something but I don't know what it is.
'I need to run like there's no tomorrow because one day there may not be a tomorrow if I don't run.'

I collapse in between a couple of rose bushes in what I believe is a Sr high school. I haven't been to school since my dad dissapeared when I was 8 so it's kinda fuzzy when I think about what my school looked like. I'm leaning against the rock wall/fence around the perimeter of the school yard, gasping for more air since I ran down that damn mountain. I mean who the hell even lives in the mountains anymore besides wild life junkies.
"I think ~huff~ I finally ~huff~ got rid of ~huff~ them..."I can just feel the sweat running down my back.
'So now that I'm somewhat safe,
        What should I do now?'
~Crack!~ lightening strikes as it starts pouring down rain. I press myself farther in between the rose bushes and roll up into a ball to keep warm.

'It's not like I can just go home, That's the 1rst place those pychopaths will look.'
The sky rumbles again lighting up.
'And it's not like I have any reason to stay but...
                     But...'
"IT JUST PISSES ME OFF!!!" I scream into the storm.
'Well at least I have these roses – I love roses, especially the ones that look like they were dipped in blood."
Something snaps pulling my attention away from the roses and to the bush on the other side of me. There in the corner is a white water snake. "Oh! Hello little one." The white snake bolts back into the bush and I sweat drop.
"Please don't go! I promise I won't hurt you." The snake slowely slithers back out from its hiding place in the bush and I hold my arm out for him to climb into, pulling the arm sleeve of the red and white priestess kimono up. "I'm just a bit lonely." I admit to the snake.
'Wow his eyes such a beautiful bright green.'
"And lost..."
'Just like HIS.'
I lift my arm off the ground and look at the snake at my eye level.
"And I'm..." I shudder as I feel tears start to roll down my cheeks.
"And I'm so scared I don't know what to do!"
'Shizi-zan told me to run.'
"He told me to run like there's no tomorrow." ~sniffle~ " cause if I don't run there might not be a tomorrow." ~hiccup~ "He died protecting me damnit! HE DIED FOR NOTHING!!!" I scream again and close my eyes shut, taking huge breaths, trying to calm myself down.
"And I–"
"A girl as beautiful as you shouldn't cry." A cold hand wipes my tears away as i start debateing whether I should scream or run away or both.
Instead I shove him away and open my eyes.
"N-no. Stay away from me!"
It's the same teenager from the shrine I woke up in and at the same time I realise that, I realise something else far more important to me.
"Oh no!"
"What's wrong?"
I whimper and turn around towards him with tears streaming down my face. "He's gone..."
"Who's gone?"
"There was a white snake on my arm and now he's gooone!" I sob and start looking around through the surrounding bushes for him.
"I have to find him!"
"No you don't. I'm right here."
I give him a look that says hes lost mind.
"Oh just stop. The snakes fine."
"How would you know?"
"Because I am the snake."
I growl at him and go back to searching the bushes.
"Hmmm, you remind me of when I first met Nanami-chan. She also was very kind to me unlike her classmates."
"Your a huge liar. you know that right?" I sit back down in the grass, with my back to him, and rub my temples.
"People can't just turn into animals. I mean unless your from some kind of fairy tale then yeah, no one can limit your imagination."
I begin to yawn when fantasy boy grabs my arm and begins dragging me away.
"I don't have time for this, Nanami's waiting! She'll explain everything."

"And that's how we found you." I stare at them dumbfounded. There's no other word for it. The girl who said her name is Nanami believes she's some kind of human land God and the 2 teenage boys behind her think they're her guardians. The one who said his name is Tomoe thinks he's a fox yokai. And the other teenage boy, whose name is Mizuki, thinks he's some Devine white snake!
I, personally, don't believe in such crap so as an aithiest I'm seriously considering calling the nearest pychiatric facility and telling them to get their asses down here. (Or up here since we're on a mountain side.)
I shake my head slowely trying to get my thoughts back in order.
"All right now that we are done with that crazyness spewing from your mouth I'm leaving." I get up and start toward the door "Oh and if you ever need to see a pychiatrist their number is in the phone book. I highly suggest you call them."
I'm at the door when someone tugs on my sleeve. It's the girl Nanami.
"Please" she looks at me concerned "we just want to help."
I stare at her for a moment then shift my gaze to the 2 boys, Tomoe and Mizuki. They don't look like much but if they're actually her 'gaurdians' then I'll have to be careful if I when I'm fighting them.the girl will be no problem. I flick my eyes back to Nanami.
"Fine if you really want to help then I'll need a room to stay in for the next couple of days while I figure some things out. I'll also need to know where you found me and get some new clothes." I stare at her intently "can you do that?" She nods at me and says " Yeah, come with me. We'll have to go into town for the clothes." She takes my hand, I flinch, and runs out the door dragging me with her.
"Wait Nanami-Chan I'm coming with you!" A voice - Mizuki? - yells
"No your not! Kotetsu needs you 2 today. I'll be fine!" Nanami yells back at them just before the shrine disappears from view.
