Chapter 18

"No thank you" Mal says

"You can hold my hand if you want" I offer

"Yeah I'd like that" Mal says and I sit next to her as Dawn gets ready to place the needle, but Mal looks down to the needle.

"Mal look at me don't look down just look at my eyes and relax" I say as she grabs my hand

"Ev it's much worse than you think" She says and I chuckle

"It's really not look just focus on me and my voice here I'll tell you a story about young me! Oh okay when I was seven I won a teddy bear at an amusement park and little me was astonished over a small bear and actually I still have it but his arm needs to get stitched up and yeah that's the day I fell in love with my bear.. Kiwi the bear"

"You're all done Mal" Dawn says but Mal doesn't answer and doesn't let go of my hand

"Uhhh Mal?" I say

"Oh yeah sorry, thank you for helping me" she says and I smile

"Anytime" I say getting up and kissing her forehead "I'll see you back out in the field! Later! Ev out!"

Mal's POV

"I'll see you back out in the field! Later! Ev out!" Ev says and throws a piece sign

"Dork" I mumble laughing

After about fifteen minutes I was finally able to go back to the field.

"Hi Ev"

"What up" she says

"You seem more relaxed and more chill" I say looking at her face

"Yeah?" She says and you can hear the confusion

"You're starting to sound like Tobin"

"Huh really?" She asks as she juggles the ball

"And starting to act like Tobin" I say

"Mini me! Come on!" Tobin yells

"Bye Mal" Ev says

What the hell just happened.

"That's weird" I mumble

"What's weird my young Mal" Kelley says

"Jesus Kelley warn a person!" I yell

"Yeah whatever anyway what's weird?" She asks

"Nothing come on we have to get back to practice"

"Alright ladies we're going to split into two teams just like yesterday same teams as earlier go!" Jill says

"Hey Chris does Ev seem weird to you?" I ask Christen

"Weird how?" She says

"Like I don't know more 'chill' calmed down I don't know" I say

"That's actually how she naturally is she's very calm and laid back but lately with the nightmare and well everything she just turns into a sensitive little baby"

"So she's another Tobin?"

"Pretty much"

"Oh okay" I say

"Alright first team to get to five wins" Jill says

"Get ready to lose mom!" Ev yells

"Hey that's not fair they have two Tobin's!" Sonnett yells and I laugh

"Alright ladies begin!"

"Up Mal!" Christen yells and I run up

Christen flicked the ball towards me but Alyssa grabbed it.

"Sorry kid" Alyssa says and I run back

Alyssa kicked the ball all the way to Julie as she kicked it towards Tobin and well Tobin being Tobin she did her moves tricking. Once she did pass through Sonnett she flicked the ball towards the box and I see that no one saw Evelyn so she easily headed the ball into the back of the net.

"Yeah take that mom!" Ev yells as she jumps on Tobin's back

After the game we headed towards the bus. We lost. 5-2 unbelievable!

"Hey Mal" Ev says

"Oh hey what's up" I ask

"Nothing just wanted to know what you're going to do tomorrow on our day off" she asks

"I'm not sure why?" I ask. Oh my god is she going to ask me out on a date! Wait does she even like me. Gosh.

"Well um some of the girls well no that's a lie we're all going down to the ice rink, so what do you say wanna come?" She asks

"Sure I'd love to"

"Cool I'll see you back in our room! Ev out!" She says and goes to Christen.

I should've known, of course she doesn't like me. One can only hope.
