"Don't tell me I just got a freak virus or something..." You groan. You sit back with a huff, ready to just eject the disc when the screen blips back on. Only this time it's a blue screen.
"Ahhhh fuck." You say as the light becomes blinding.

Welcome new player!
Your eyes snap open, and you sit up abruptly. You're in a void.
"What the hell?" You said, getting up on your feet.
"Hi there! Welcome to the void!" A voice startled you, and you turned around to see a floating white ball.
"Uh, hi?" You wave awkwardly. It giggles, getting brighter for a moment.
"Ooh, a new player! We haven't had many of those in a while! What's your name?"
"Wait wait, slow down. New player? The heck you talking about?"
"Please state your name!" It repeated. You realized it wouldn't answer your questions, and begrudgingly gave it your name.
"Great name! Next, please select your species!" Species? Before you had time to ask, a bunch of cards began to float around you, each depicting some sort of animal. You looked back at the ball, who bobbed up and down patiently. You sighed, looking at each of the cards. After reading through on all of them, you end up picking the [animal].
"Wonderful! One last step now. Each player is given one gift, a boon if you will. What will be yours?" Again, cards swirl around you, floating clockwise. You hum as you take in the options.
Natural charm:Your disposition and attitude allows you to build trust more easily with others, as well as convince them easier. Be careful, for it can work against you. The card is engraved with a rose. You look at the next one.
Cunning wit:Your tongue and way with words allow you to read the intentions of others, and react quickly in times of stress. You also get additional options when faced with certain problems. The card had a hand holding another card. Huh. Finally, you turn to the last one.
Tech wiz:Your gifted mind allows you to know all the ins and outs of any technology you come across! In addition, your background allows you to hack into anything with ease! The card had fittingly enough, a bunch of code running across it. Decisions decisions... You simply closed your eyes and spun around, stopping and tapping a card. You open your eyes.
"Cunning wit. Interesting. Alright, with that last bit out of the way, you're ready to begin your new journey into the world!" The void brightens, and you suddenly find yourself floating in above a town. Below, you can see plenty of animals going about their day, totally unaware of your presence.
"Wait, where am I exactly?!"
"Ready?"
"What? No!"
"Good luck!" The ball spins around you, getting brighter and brighter. You eventually are forced to close your eyes. You feel yourself falling.
And falling.
And falling....

"Omph!" You grunt as you land on something soft. You groan, removing your face from it and rubbing your face. You pause as you notice your hand is all fuzzy. Blinking, you find yourself gazing back at a paw.
Your paw. You breath in a large amount of air, trying not to freak out.
Too late, your screaming. Thankfully, no one notices. You take a moment to collect yourself.
"Okay, okay. Calm down. There has to be a way out of this. Everything has a reason for happening...right?" Something vibrates in your pocket, and you hurriedly dig it out, turning the screen on. A text message is smack dab in the middle, scrolling across.
"Hey, you awake? We're gonna be late for school!" You blink, looking around. Now that you aren't panicking, you notice a school bag lying in front of you, along with a clear view of a school in the distance. Despite your brain screaming at you to not reply, you do so.
"I'm awake, I'll be there soon!"
"Perfect! I'll be waiting by the entrance, see you soon!" WIth a click, you shut your phone off, grab the bag, and hurry off to the school.
