Prologue

"My Sapphire!Your pearl has arrived!"An Aquamarine called, flying around the dark gem placed on a pillow.

A blue Sapphire walked out slowly,her face blank as she walked over to the pearl.She picked it up,it started glowing & flew up,a hologram shell around it.

"Name please"A voice spoke.

"Sapphire"

"Setting preference please"

"Default"

"You have chosen default mode, please stand by"The shell opened as it flew lower to the ground,a figure of light appeared of it.The light cleared,revealing a tall woman with a black pearl on her stomach.
"My Sapphire"Pearl bowed,seeing her new masters face.

The Aquamarine watched the whole thing in amazement,never seeing a Pearl be formed for the first time like that,it truly is a rare sight to most.

"Come Pearl,we have things to do" Sapphire said as she turned around & started walking back into her room where she was organizing things.
Pearl followed after her quickly, acting like she had been doing this for years.

Aquamarine finally snapped out of it before quickly getting back to work herself.

"Spinel,I am giving you a Pearl. She will help you do anything you need,aswell as she will be your play mate when I am busy"Blue Diamond spoke calmly,Blue Pearl walked over quickly & held out her hands.In her hands was a white pearl gem,Spinel stared in amazement before happily taking it from her.

The pearl floated up un the air ass it glowed,a hologram shell around it.
"Name Please"

"Spinel!"She practically screamed in excitement,a goofy smile on her face,she was hopping up & down slightly in anticipation.

"Setting preference,please"it spoke again.

"Uh..."

"Default mode selected,please stand by"It floated closer to the floor as the shell opened,a figure appeared,it was made of light.

Spinel watched as her new playmate was brought to life,it was truly a beautiful sight.

The shell disappeared,a woman with a white pearl in her chest stood in front of the three in the room.

"My Spinel"The Pearl bowed to her gracefully,Spinel suddenly snapped out of her trance & smiled happily.

"Just call me Spinel!Do you wanna play?"Spinel grinned ear to ear, Pearl stood up straight & looked at Spi el in surprise before realizing something.

"Yes...Spinel"She smiled at the goofily happy gem standing in front of her.

Spinel grabbed her arm & started pulling her away, leading her to her favorite place to play.
"This is Blue Diamonds room,she let's me come in & play a lot!" Spinel smiled happily as she let go of Pearl's arm & ran towards a door on the other side of the room."Come on!"She called behind her,Pearl followed behind her quickly as they entered a different room.

This room had blank white walls, Spinel ran over to some paint in the corner of the room.She peeled open the tops of multiple cans before sticking her hands in them. She slapped her hands onto the wall viciously,creating multiple hand prints in multiple colors along the wall.

"Spinel,does Blue Diamond just let you do that to her wall?"Pearl watched as Spinel dipped her hands in different colors & repeated the process.

"Oh!I forgot to show you!"Spinel knocked on the side of the wall, before long,a canvas popped out,it was rather big,but it was holding all Spinel's handprints on it.
"This room was made to be painted in!Blue Diamond made it just for me!So I guess you could say this is my room"Spinel turned slightly & grinned at Pearl,who eventually smiled back.

"My Sapphire,Blue Diamond has chosen an escort for you.She will be escorting you everywhere from now on.My Diamond wanted to make sure you were safe with the rebels running around lately" Aquamarine announced,a Blue Topaz standing next to her with a blank expression.

"I had predicted this.Topaz,come" Sapphire turned & entered the room she stayed in,Topaz silently followed her into the room.

Pearl closed the door behind the two & stood by the door,waiting for orders.

"I have never seen a Blue Topaz, you are an extremely rare color.I had predicted that I was going to be getting an escort,I didn't expect it to be a gem so uncommon" Sapphire spoke,walking over to her bed,sitting on it slowly.

"Blue Diamond only makes the best for the members of her court" Blue Topaz said,watching the smaller gem before leaning against the wall."I was made especially for you,many others in Blue Diamond's court were made their own personal gem escorts aswell."She slid down the wall & sat on the floor,still leaning against it.She was tired,she was only made earlier that day,she wasn't up to full capacity yet.

(Some gems know what sleep is from going to different planets & hearing about it.Topaz learned what it was when she first popped out,a quartz guard told her as they were collecting the newly made gems.)

"I see,I must thank her later,then" Sapphire laid down,facing away from the two other gems in the room who were both by the door.

"Hey"Topaz looked over at Pearl, she was standing on the other side of the doorway,not doing anything.

Pearl side eyed her,showing she heard & was waiting for her to speak.

"Do you have to stand all the time?Don't you ever get to sit,or lay down?"Topaz rested her cheek on her hand as she stared up at her.

"There's no need to,I don't need to rest.Besides,I have to be ready for if my Sapphire wants something" Pearl looked over at Sapphire,who was still laying on the bed motionless,Pearl wasn't sure why.

"Well,I think your Sapphire is going to sleep"

"Sleep?"

"Yeah,sleep.do you not know what that is?"Topaz looked over at Sapphire,she was pretty sure she was going to sleep.

"No,I've never heard of it."Pearl looked down at Topaz,waiting for her to explain.

"Sleeping is when you lay down, close your eyes,don't talk,& make you mind go blank"Topaz explained using the words that the quartz had told her.

"Interesting"

"We should try it sometime,to see what it's like"Topaz smiled slightly,liking the idea of sleep.

"We can't,we have to stay alert to make sure Sapphire is safe & comfortable"Pearl sighed softly, looking towards the gem laying on the bed.

"Are we really not allowed to take a break?At all?We need to recharge sometimes too"Topaz huffed,but sighed afterwards at her childish behavior.

"Sapphire is our main priority,we could only rest if she told us t-"

"Pearl"

Both gems froze on the spot, Sapphire was awake,she had heard them,she had heard everything!They would get in trouble for such insolence,Pearl thought.

"Y-Yes,my Sapphire?"Pearl answered,stuttering nervously.

"You & Topaz come over here & lay dosn,you should sleep for a while"Sapphire said,not turning to look at them.

They both stared at her in shock, not expecting her to say anything like that,but Topaz suddenly stood up & walked over.

She went to the other side of the bed & gently laid down across the bed from Sapphire,still slightly nervous but tired none the less.

"Pearl?"Sapphire called to the other gem,who was still standing in place in confusion.

Pearl slowly started making her way to the bed,she looked down at the two,if she were to lay down. She was gonna have to climb over Sapphire or make her scoot over if she wanted to lay down.
"There isn't enough room,I'll just stan..."Sapphire scooted over for her,causing her to stop talking.She gulped roughly before climbing under the covers,pulling them over herself.
