Marcus ran through the village as he was chased by soldiers. Not even 10 minutes earlier, he family was taken by Cuban's to be executed. As he ran down a deserted alley, he stopped to process everything that had happened. He never expected the Cubans to invade New York, but they had made it all the way to Queens his home town. When he finally realized what was happening, he was in shock. Rubble everywhere, building had fallen, cars were exploding, and Cuban soldiers we're moving in.

He scanned the alley to see if he could find a place to hide. He noticed the empty trash can and braced himself as he got in. As soon as his feet made contact with the ground he could feel the slush and mush of rotten food touch his skin. He heard a noise and got down. It was the soldiers. He ducked in the can and tried to stay silent. But he felt something on his neck. To his shock, he wasn't the only one in the can. A long black snake slithered out from behind him. As Marcus tried not to panic, the snake got closer. To make matters even worse, the soldiers were checking every corner of the alley to find him. Suddenly, the snake stopped. "Foolish human", the snake hissed. Marcus shrieked, alerting the soldiers. The snake hissed and retreated to the back of the trash can. Marcus could hear footsteps getting closer. He knew his time was up. He closed his eyes not letting out a single tear. That's when it happened. The soldier opened the lid. "Don't worry, you'll be with your family again", exclaimed the soldier. That's when the snake jumped up and wrapped himself around the neck of the soldier. The other soldiers started to shoot. Two more snakes appeared from the corners of the alley and attacked. All three snakes linked together and formed a bond so tight that it decapitated the soldiers. Then, there was silence. Marcus slowly crawled out of the trash can to see the snakes all looking at him. They were hurt. White puss was flowing from their heads. Marcus ran over to help the snakes when one of them looked up. Marcus quietly states, "I didn't know snakes could talk". All three snakes looked up. The darkest one whispered back, "We aren't snakes... we are penises".
