Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!
I open my eyes the sun is shining brightly through my window. I groan as I get up because all I want to do is just lay back in my bed and not go to go to school. But I slowly get into the shower and let the warm water run down my back to wake me up.

I finish in the shower and go into my closet and pick out a light blue blouse, and grab a pair of black ripped shorts to wear. I quickly put them on and go back into the bathroom to blow dry my hair and put it in a messy side braid, grabbed my white vans, on the way out of my room, and headed downstairs.

"Good Morning Shay," my mom said as I walked into the kitchen to grab a granola bar.

"Morning Mom."

"Could you do me a favor? After school, could you go and pick up some bread at the store?"

"Ya, I can."

"Thanks so much! Have a good day at school! Bye love you!"

"Love you too! See you later," I say as I walk out of the door to my car. As soon as I step foot outside I am hit by a strong wave of heat, it's going to be a beach day.

I pull up into my normal parking spot at our school and see my two best friends, Emma and Ashley, waiting for me. "Hey," I say getting out of my car.

"Hey Shay," Em says as I wrap her into a big hug, and go for Ash next. I have the greatest friends. Em and I met in 1st grade and we've been best friends ever since. We go through our ups and downs together, with her parents being divorced and everything. Ash and I just met 3 years ago during freshman year, and have become very close.

"Hey, guys do you want to go to the beach after school it's so hot out," I asked them while we walked into the school.

"Ya sure I can go anytime after 4:00 because I have to go walk the Chloe," Em said. Chloe is Em's new dog she just got a month ago.

"Ya, I can go whenever. By the way, can I go home with you after school Shay," Ash asked.

"Ya. Do you want to stop by your house to get your swimsuit? I have to drive right past your house to pick up bread for my mom."

"Yes sounds good," Ash said as the bell rang for us to go to our lockers. I get to my locker and grab my books for algebra. I hate algebra like sometimes it's okay but most of the time I'm completely lost.

I get to class just in time before the bell rang and I started doing my warm-up. Mrs. Jones came in and we went over our warm-up together. Then she gave us a really boring talk about equations and stuff, I don't know I kinda zoned out.

Once the bell rang I bolted out of that class and waited for Ashley who had Mr. Helen's class, which is right next to my algebra class. "Mr. Helen's class was SOOOO boring!" she said when she got to me, I just laughed and rolled my eyes.

"You don't even know Mrs. Jones's class if 5 times worse than his class," I said still laughing.

"Ya whatever, see ya later," Ashley said as she went to her locker and I did the same. I grabbed my other books for my next class.

The bell rang and everyone got up to go to lunch. I only have 3 more hours left then I could leave and go spend the rest of the day at the beach!

I was walked into the lunch room and made my way to the lunch line. As I was approaching our table I heard Ash saying something to Em about Ella and Jack, who are dating and really popular. "What did I miss," I said as I sat down.

"Oh, nothing much just a rant about this and a rant about that. You know how she is," Em said jokingly.

"What!? That's what you think of me now. You wanna fight," Ash said with a grin on her face and her fists up. And then we all started laughing.

Then Ash says, "Hey, so I was talking to Ethan this morning and he was soooo flirting with me. I mean he's cute and everything but I don't know what to think about it."

"I mean if you like him go for it he's kinda cute and I think he would be good for you," I tell her.

"I don't know what I feel about him. Maybe I just start talking to him and see where things go? I mean it wouldn't be like we were dating right? If I don't like him in that way. I just don't wana lose our friendship."

"Yeah, I get that. But I mean I would try it why not? I'm not experienced enough with guys to tell you this but that's just my opinion."
